Boden Got Your Back | Chicago Fire

During a massive fire several fire teams get to work at evacuating everybody from the building yet some are trapped. When all seems lost Boden arrives with the right tools to finish the job and save lives.
Season 5 Episode 19 "Carry Their Legacy"
Casey reunites with an old friend who is assigned as a temporary Squad replacement as Severide's truck has broken. While at a call, Casey makes a big decision. Meanwhile, Severide makes strides in figuring out why Anna abruptly left, Dawson and Brett are forced to be retrained as EMT's following an incident. Also, Connie returns to work and the members on truck makes bets to see how long her temporary replacement will last.

@@opteveo3586 he died on duty... They were in a mattress factory and there was an explosion. He couldn't make it on time to get in to a safe room.. So he was burnt... He was transfered into the hospital but couldn't make it...Cruz was devastated... RIP Otis....

@@esme._ello5165 It is. Many people miss him. Joe took it hardest. Wallace also explained for house 51 that Otis' last words, uttered in Russian, meant "Brother. I will be with you always" which he had said to Joe just as his heart stopped.

Like the fire service in real life. I'd say it's about 60% car wrecks, 10% false alarms, 3% medical, 7% actual major fires, 25% small fires and 5% other.

That's because we mostly follow Truck, Squad and Ambulance. Truck handles search and rescue with ladders, Squad handles special rescues and other situations needing specialized equipment like diving, and Ambulance follows paramedics. If the cast was on Engine which carries water, we'd be seeing a lot more actual fighting against fire.

Fire service does a LOT. Theyre the emergency service with all the specialized heavy duty tools to breach and reach places, so anytime something requires that, they come in.

watching this in 2020 be like - - - I loved Boden, since I started leading groups at the age of 15. His character made me feel like I could do it. He inspired me. He's black. And he's without a doubt my favorite character of television of all time. love from Germany

The whole episode is awesome except one part at 5.11 where Otis grabbed the fire hose to go and the 3 stooges standing there clueless. Emergency situation as first responder you need to be alert and proactive and not just standing there

do you actually watch the show because they don't always respond to fires; and the ones that they do respond to aren't always this size; and they show the paramedics being called out to plenty of incidents; and the timelines in the episodes are very spaced out: so they don't respond to, for example, three fires in one shift, they respond to three fires in one episode, spaced out over two, maybe three shifts.

@@manfrommars340 well, since this series is based on how it works on Chicago, I don't think you're gonna get an EMS show out of DIck Wolf. besides, the show is more about the characters than the emergencies so I'm not sure how different it would really be: just the paramedics getting called out to lots of incidents that maybe don't differ all that much; certainly not the way they can differ if they're part of the fire department.
