@@smedrano1964 You're right, minority right's DO matter. Nobody can fucking dispute that without a messed up conscious, sure, however; that doesn't mean we should just be malicious towards the (black) Africano-Americano community now, or EVER. They have been enslaved, "freed", told to shut up, and move on with their lives in a country they did not CHOOSE to migrate into. They never got closure for their ancestors, and now they get hunted down as if they were animals by everyone! You are an example of the unprovoked harassment they receive on the daily, whether you want to believe it or not. You shouldn't be spreading this type of hate when majority of the black community have supported us Chicanos unconditionally. Plus, our people -chicanos- come in many different types of shades. So, who are you to degrade and claim these opinions as "facts"? Remember: "Unidos somos un equipo"
@smedrano19644 жыл бұрын
@@nanaochi I do not speak without facts. My family was involved in the Raza Unida and later in the familias Unidas. There is truth in this not hate. I can cite you just one example the one I cited when I was in discussion with Marvel . In avengers endgame there was hundreds of superheroes all of them were either black or white not a single Hispanic Asian or Native American. The only mention of Hispanics was when one of of the avengers is mentioned as killing a bunch of people in a Mexican cartel which is a negative stereotype. We are not just drug dealers and gang members We are scientists doctors technocrats Etc... I am fighting for the first Hispanic superhero Nova.. They told me about Miles Morales the new Spider-Man. and what I told them is that we needed a Hispanic that looks like the majority of Hispanics not a blonde blue-eyed Hispanic or African-American looking Hispanic. That's just an excuse not to include us. THE MISSING COLOR IS BROWN. I am fighting for Nova as the first Hispanic superhero ever at Marvel and I am very close. This is an example of ZEBRA APARTHEID whites and blacks including each other to the exclusion of everybody else. BLACKS do not fight for us blacks fight for blacks that's why they are almost in every movie. They are in sitcoms game shows they get the the vast majority of charitable contributions from corporations. They get the vast majority of minority internships. They don't fight for the inclusion of Hispanics that's why we're not in any movies. They fight for a bigger share of the pie for themselves. BLACKS FIGHT FOR BLACKS Where I live Hispanics outnumber blacks 10 to 1 on Martin Luther King day. but do they come march with us us on Cesar Chavez day . NO WHEN ONE OF THEM GETS KILLED WE PROTEST ALONGSIDE THEM WHEN ONE OF US GETS KILLED NOBODY GOES OUT ON THE STREET. BECAUSE THIS SOCIETY HAS BEEN PROGRAMMED THAT WE DON'T MATTER. As for the issue of slavery throughout world history everybody and every group has been enslaved at one time and the one that ENSLAVED you usually looked just like you. We may not agree but I hope you understand what I'm saying to you.
@smedrano19644 жыл бұрын
@@nanaochi You may not have noticed this but there have been more Hispanics in commercials in the last six months than in the last 20 years. I have my brothers and sisters fighting alongside me. We are not butting our heads against an irresistible wall we are making progress. If we don't fight for ourselves nobody will. It's not about hate it is about truth. It's about our children seeing themselves up there in positive role models as good as intelligent as worthy as anybody else . We fight for full inclusion so our humanity can be shown and we will no longer be in the shadows. TRUTH SOMETIMES IS DIFFICULT BUT IT IS BETTER THAN BEING INVISIBLE UNDER A LIE. BE PROUD AND BE STRONG

Late comment hopefully you see this. Drink Cultura: chicanismo by Jose Antonio burciaga, Chicano! A history of the Mexican-American civil Rights movement by F. Arturo Gonzalez, Francisco A. Gonzalez, Mongrels bastards orphans and vagabonds: Mexican immigration and the future of race in America by Gregory Rodriguez, Grounds for dreaming: Mexican-American, Mexican immigrants and the California farm workers movement by Lori A. Flores, Chicana/o studies: survey and analysis by J Bixler-Marquez and Carlos F Ortega, Ask a Mexican by Gustavo Arellano(had the pleasure of working with he's awesome and hilarious). Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzalez and Jose-Angel Gutierrez have also written books I haven't read them yet I need to look them up. Oh And of course Zoot Suit by Luis Valdez if you haven't already. I hope this helps we need to spread more history other than the Mexican-American war.

boooo this comment stinks! before you go being ignorant, just know that some of the Chicano Walkouts in LA would not have happened without Black Panthers and other Black political groups. Chicanos were inspired by how they were taking action and decided to do the same for themselves. Don't be out of pocket. Black and Brown have to stick together if we really want change.
