Chickadee attacks house wren inside nest box while wren raiding chickadee box 4/30/2022

We've never seen this happen before. Earlier the house wren came into the box and broke the eggs. Then the house wren started removing nest material. That's when the chickadee came into the box and attacked the house wren.

It's funny how House Wrens sneak into boxes to throw eggs and young out, and yet when they get cornered by birds as small as a chickadee, they get their rear ends handed to them. I've seen this happen by Bluebirds and Tree Swallows too. Didn't realize Chickadees would put up this much of a fight.

The description says that the house wren cracked all the chickadees eggs then as it was removing the chickadees nest bedding the chickadee came and found the wren in its nest

@@shantakidd6230 Poor birds they have it rough trying to survive. I just didn’t think a little chickadee had it in them I guess anything with babies will try to protect with there life if needed. I hope her next family survived. I love little chickadees.

Yes the wren is dead. Their is another video that shows the dead wren.😢

No it didn’t die , it was just playing dead, part 4 video has the wren escaping.

@@donnasmith2079 I went and looked at this channel's videos, the Wren did die. In this video, the Wren appears dead, but it isn't. There was another fight left in the Wren as it tries to defend itself, and more screeching by the Wren, but it succumbs in the last video.

So what happened? The Wren appeared dead, because the Chickadee was plucking its feathers and it wasn't even flinching. Wow, I had no idea Chickadees could be so vicious. If the Wren did survive, I bet he won't ever enter that box again!

Good to see that wren is bein killed. it is a angry enemy: it kills chicks if enters a nestbox with chicks. And the chickadee did it professionally!

I mean that's true of all animals though. I've seen it also with lions. When a young animal claims territory to start building its own family, it will kill off any offspring leftover by the family they've pushed out.
