I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch since your passing, and since I found your channel on youtube a year or two ago, I’ve loved and enjoyed your cooking videos so much! But now it’s autumn again, and time to cook bredies, soups and stews, especially after the storm and rain which came quite early this year. I have two of your books, and love how you speak about cold rainy Cape Town days, and the comfort of home food. My granny used to cook up a pot of soup on our paraffin heater many years back. Humble wonderful home food. Your books and videos make me nostalgic for those moments. Today I made chicken curry, and watched this video again just for the joy of it. Rest in peace Fatima. You continue to spread joy with your infectious giggle and timeless bowls of comfort.

One thing I adored and still do about you is how grounded you are. You never changed up. Literally relating to our community and staying true to our culture.

- Onion ×2 saute till golden - Grated garlic, add 3 gloves - Grate ginger, add 1 tbsn - Tomatoes x3, add, till soft - Curry powder 2 tbspn - Chicken 1kg - Salt and black pepper - Water and coconut milk - Garam masala
