Yep, we have a henitentiary, or fowlcatraz that is for bloodiest to cool down in, or if we have a lady looking down and under the weather, we give her a couple of nights peace in there...although when it becomes the rest home, we add a slide in wooden floor and shade cloth sides, or in cold weather, cardboard sides to make it more comfy. The whole unit is mounted on the boundary fence of the main pen so that patients don't become strangers to the rest of the flock. There's no doubt that an ailing chook can sometimes show a huge improvement, just from having peace a quiet and no stress from the other girls bullying (or worse). Sometimes I think too, making the environment dark for most of the time encourages extra sleep, which also seems to be a great healer. This of course is in addition to whatever treatments have been prescribed.

Seriously though, how often do you need to use solitary? & won't she just get pecked to smithereens again back in general population? What sort of justice will the perpetrators receive for fowling? Lol
