I love eating Shawarma! What can I say, it's true! I made the best shawarma in town, it slides down the throat, something scary. "Pasta Medie," to quote the "King of Shawarmas - I Love Eating."
No offense, but I got a crazy craving watching him and I followed a recipe to my taste.
Chicken shawarma with everything, this homemade shawarma, with quick garlic mayo, is bound to be loved by everyone.
I also made plate shawarma for those who want it with cabbage salad with tomatoes and cucumbers, like after an original shawarma recipe.

Shawarma Recipe Ingredients.
For marinating the shawarma meat:
- 1 kg of Chicken (Beef/Lamb);
- 300 gr of 10% fat yogurt;
- 30 ml of olive oil;
- 8 crushed garlic cloves;
- 1 small onion grated;
- 1 teaspoon of coriander seeds (ground/pounded);
- 1 teaspoon of ground pepper;
- 2 teaspoons of salt;
- 3-4 crushed cloves;
- 3-4 crushed cardamom pods;
- a pinch of nutmeg;
- 1/2 teaspoon of sumac;
- 1/2 teaspoon of ginger;
- 1/2 teaspoon of chili flakes;
- 1/2 teaspoon of cumin;
- 1 teaspoon of paprika;
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric;
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon;
For the shawarma recipe:
- pita bread;
- thinly sliced cabbage (like for salad);
- pickled cucumbers to taste;
- tomato slices;
- garlic mayo to taste;
- ketchup to taste;
- french fries;
For the garlic mayo sauce:
- 2 whole eggs;
- 100-150 ml of sunflower oil;
- juice from 1/2 lemon;
- 1 teaspoon of mustard;
- salt and pepper to taste;
- 5-6 garlic cloves or to taste;
