Kansas City Chiefs News & Rumors: ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports that free agent center Connor Williams is expected to be fully healthy from his ACL surgery before Week 1 and that he plans to sign with a team before training camps begin next month. Williams has played center the past 2 years, but spent 4 seasons as a guard with the Cowboys before that. While Creed Humphrey is obviously Kansas City’s starting center, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was non-committal on Joe Thuney’s timetable as he recovers from a pec injury. Chiefs Stadium news is ramping up after the Kansas Senate approved a new proposal to build a Chiefs and Royals stadium in a 27-8 vote. The Chiefs are looking to build a new stadium and ownership wants to limit how much money they’ll have to spend for it. The STAR proposal that just passed in Kansas essentially means that taxpayers would pay for the majority of the stadium whereas recent proposals in Missouri want more ownership money invested.

Moving across town to Kansas is a win for Kansas and the taxpayers. Just look at what the Arizona Cardinals Stadium did for Glendale , AZ. Tremendous growth around the Stadium, a tax bonanza . Missouri Taxpayers are short sited.

God bless Patrick Mahomes. He offered up $400 million to KC Missouri Mayor for the stadium. He offered up what ownership wouldn’t. KS legislators running around offering up the world after 62 years, but the current QB is willing to put up his contract to help out Missouri. As long as PM is QB in Mo. I will carry my 62 years of fandom with me whenever Chiefs play. If they leave and PM is still there, it is week to week. PM done, Chiefs in KS, Texas, Okla. I’m out!! It’s quite probable that they’ll move to the Kansas side. Arrowhead is gonna be 60 years old by the time the lease is up. They can’t keep sinking money into it, unless they do a Lambeau type deal & put a billion into it. The problem is, Kansas is ready to give the Hunts 2 billion towards a brand new stadium & MO just voted down continuing the three-eighths cent tax. Would you give up two billion? It’s only a 10 mile move
