- Sign David Bakhtiari in 2024 NFL Free Agency? Bakhtiari is still a free agent and has the most pedigree of any left tackle that remains unsigned. The Chiefs’ LT options currently are 2nd-year Wanya Morris and rookie Kingsley Suamataia. Neither are proven and if the Chiefs are going to 3-peat as Super Bowl Champions, they’ll need to protect Patrick Mahomes’ blindside.
- Chiefs Contract Extension Rumors: Sign Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith to new deals before Chiefs Training Camp? Both offensive linemen are set to be free agents in 2025 and they are critical to the Chiefs’ offense. With Joe Thuney’s contract running through next season, can they afford to pay both? Thuney is set to earn over $26 million in 2025.

Extensions for valuable players like Humphrey and Smith make absolute sense, but signing or trading for any new players is something the Chiefs won't be doing any time soon.

Sign Creed, Tag and Trade Trey Smith and figure Thuney out later. Creed Humphrey: re sign him this offseason. Jason Kelce made $14M/year so expect Creed’s annual price to be around that. Trey Smith: Franchise tag him next offseason. Then do a tag and trade like they did with L’Jarius and get a 3rd or 4th round pick in the 2025 draft. Robert Hunt got $20M/year so Trey’s agent will ask for that price which is very high. Joe Thuney: Restructure his deal or Cut him after the 2025 season. The Chiefs just drafted Hunter Nourzad and CJ Hanson who were both really good in college. Wanya has been taking snaps and Left Guard during OTA’s
