We got a long hair Chihuahua when she was 8 weeks, she's 4 months now. At 2 months while we were playing 'get the ball' with her when she came running back to me, dropped the ball in front of me and barked for the first time. The cutest little sound. She gave me a confused look as if to say "what was that?"

kass - 5 years ago we adopted two 2 year old ex-racing Greyhound from a Greyhound Rescue, this past February my husband surprised me with an 8 week old long hair Chihuahua. my first words were *'dude this thing is chase bait, what the [expletive] where you thinking?'*. That first meeting went well, I held her and when I put her on the floor she made a beeline under the TV table. We left her and the next day she came out and was sitting under my 'puter desk. Fast forward - the Greys love her, she loves them and if anyone comes into the house to visit, they won't let them near her at first. She will sleep in her bed but when we go to bed, she has to be right there with us but hates being covered up. When either of us get up to move, she's underfoot. She's too sweet!

46619TAB Exactly, they are adorable and their eyes are so expressive ! Mine loves to sleep with us under the covers and if we disturb him by moving he will complain. Mr Tresor is the king :-) We love him so much.

Cory Harrison not really. They are plenty of dogs who don't like kisses. And yet are very loving. It depends on the character and petting style of the animal. Same with cats. My dog hate being petted on the lower back while being a young boy (and he has nopain there) he growls if you continue to do it. Yet he lets you hold his paws for a looooong time what doesn't seem to feel even that good to me. Same with too much kisses. He'll stop me with his paws (to hold of course) 😅

That whining noise is so heartbreaking! My Chihuahua whines when she wants attention like that too. She knows it works. Kills me. They're just too cute. When she does that and also backs her butt towards me so I will pick her up to sit on the couch next to me it's a double whammy.

Big Boss they are nice and very loyal and affectionate to their owners, but they just don't like new people most of the time so they have a bad reputation

Yeah seriously, I have met pretty nice chihuahuas but like 95% of my experience with the type are just loud yelping. Used to seriously piss me off, but idk it's sort of endearing to see how such a small dog will protect its territory.

i to never liked em, until one day a puppy was put in my lap, now shes "daddies girl" Most loyal dog ive ever had very affectionate towards me. I actually cant wait to get out of work to see her on a daily basis as if shes my kid. Her big "sister" was a boxer/rotty and boy would my little chihuahua love her and protect her. It was kinda funny. It was my big dog and my little dog, My boxer rotty has since passed about 5 months ago and now we have a Rotty pup..She kinda likes him hah but seriously i dont think i could ever live without a chihuahua now.

Chi’s are so smart, so sweet! All are amazing! I’ve volunteered with a Chi Rescue for almost 4 years now and love every second with them! I have 2 right now myself, but a 3rd could join my family again anytime. My favorite breed 😊❤️

I remember my Kemiur (Yeah, it's a very strange name). I was 10 years old when he arrived to the family. My father summoned me and my big bro to the living room with a suprise hidden inside his jacket. Just when he mentioned the word 'surprise' his tiny little head came out just like a baby kangaroo. He was so small, 2 months, and he was wearing a white sock as a jacket. He was trembling but very happy to receive our deepest love. We grew up together for 11 years, vaccines, trips to the beach, trips to the mall -you name it. Everything. Until one day he disappeared from the house during a family meeting. Nobody noticed because the house was big and the dog was very independent. After a couple of hours a complete stranger knocked the door of our house. He said "do you have a dog with these characteristics?" and after agreement he asked me to follow him to the next street because he saw my dog. I was worried but the worse was yet to come. He was there, lying on the dirt, bleeding with flies and ants around his wounds. His wounds were not fresh. Another dog bit him. And so like a father I dived for his son grabbed him, ran home and yelled 'thank you' to that stranger. I madly drove Kemiur to the vet and he did his best diagnosis but the answer was heart-breaking: "He is not going to make it. I'm sorry". With tears on my eyes I agreed to the most painful acknowledgement a father can agree with. Put him to sleep. He lived 11 years with us and now, I personally buried him. Thank you Panchito!

FernandoGalaz, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know it was hard and sad for you to share that story of heartbreak. I have a 10 year old female chihuahua /weiner dog mix. She was born in Costa Rica and my son in law got her at 8 weeks old for our daughter. Three years later they had a baby girl, and Luca was no longer the center of attention. So they gave her to ME!! On Luca's 10th birthday, New Year's Day 2017 I found a "dumped" chihuahua on our church lawn. A storm was coming that very night!! It took me 9 hours to get her, and I took her home. Luca was not happy. We loved this "little girl" for 6 weeks. Luca still was not happy. I found a loving home for her. Now Luca is happy! I did not think I could love another chihuahua but I did. Perhaps you could find another little chihuahua who needs to be loved. God bless you, sir.

Fernando Galaz An absolutely heatwrenching story. I couldn't imagine losing my baby. I think it's best when you lose one like that, to find another to offer your love too. Though they can't be replaced their are so many lonely & abused animals out there that need love too. God Bless.

Be carefull when taking Pancho to the country side. Leaving him unlashed can be dangerous. A biog bird will just pick him up and . . . same goesd when you take him to park.

Pancho is so much fun to be with, the snow looks nice,you say pancho hates water,he is not the only one,my chihuahua is afraid of water too. I think its better that way he won't jump in a very heavy river, just can't trust waters.beautiful views,pancho really very adventures like you nic, you both really have lots of fun together.

The little love of my life was named Pancho. I volunteered with a dog rescue/sanctuary and we got a call to pick up this little Chihuahua who would be euthanized at 7 that night. I went in to get him and that’s when it happened ❤️. Within 30 seconds into the ride back to my home, (I was to be his foster Mom), he got out of the crate, jumped into my lap, gave me a kiss on my cheek then rolled on to his back and went to sleep. It was all over. Foster failure that fast! I had 6 short years with him, he was my sidekick, we went literally everywhere together! He had a stroke on Christmas Day 2013 and I had to say so long for now to him. He left this world in my arms covered in my tears. I still miss him so much. Part of my heart and soul went with him over the Bridge. I’ll see him again. I believe we’re all reunited 😊❤️
