SMU Ivory Keys is proud to present "Klaviesta" to our KZfaq audience; our first live annual production held at an outside venue since COVID-19! ✨ Taken place at the Esplanade Recital Studio on 16 October 2023, we hope to bring you a wondrous, enchanting night of piano music, all from the comfort of your little black box at home.
kemu is a Japanese producer and composer that has created both VOCALOID (voice synthesizer software, often released under virtual idol avatars such as Hatsune Miku and IA) and non-VOCALOID works. He is currently the bassist and composer of the band PENGUIN RESEARCH under the name Shota Horie.
marasy8 is a Japanese pianist and composer well-known on social media platforms Niconico and KZfaq. Active since 2008, his content involves piano covers of music from anime, games, VOCALOIDs, and J-Pop, and has since expanded to include creating original music. marasy8's mascot is the pink monkey ever-present in his videos and streams.
“Chikyuu Saigo no Kokuhaku wo” (“地球最後の告白を”, “Earth’s Final Confession”) is the 5th song in kemu’s “PANDORA VOXX” song series. The series follows Maki, a “Wind-Up God”, as she grants wishes to a spate of characters using an object referred to as the VOXX and the subsequent effects and consequences.
Beginning crystal-like and sweetly with the Earth’s Final Confession, the timid Yun recounts wishing for immortality as a young girl. The song alternates between the lighter nostalgic verses as she recounts her long life and the soaring choruses as she declares to the long-deceased boy that she loves him to this very day, even after the death of humanity. The song culminates in an energetic flurry following the Earth’s final confession - this time with presented with vigour and conviction - with a perfect cadence drawing the song to a close.
Performed by Joshua Tan at Annual Production 2023, 16 October 2023.
