Thank you for this video. I believe it would be more beneficial to teach by example instead of training them what phrases to say. If the adults are setting an emotionally and behaviourally congruent example, and set their personal boundaries and explain these to kids, they will follow. It seems to me that these kids are showing behaviour that is socially acceptable instead of in line with their own integrity as a person. In my experience, empathy is learned when adults are empathic and give words to the emotions that the kids are experiencing in their interactions. This way they learn the vocabulary to their true emotions. With young kids emotions can be read from their faces still. If you miss the emotions and teach them how you think they should behave they will soon lose their emotional honesty and behave socially acceptable. They could them more easily lose confidence in their own emotional guidance and ability to regulate.

My son will be 3 next month and I’m struggling with his outbursts, tantrum when he doesn’t get his way, not sharing with his 18m old brother, hitting & pushing him. Other than those behaviors he’s smart, sweet

@Terrance Valdespino my son, has these outbursts too. I use timer now. So I'll say, "It's your sisters turn to play with the T-rex." he throws a tantrum cries and lashes out. I continued doing the same thing for a couple of days. It was hard, but once he got the idea, he slowly started following it. Now, he willingly gives the toy to his sister and will say "my turn" once she finishes. I find using a timer is a GREAT! Help. I say 'repetition, persistence, and consistency' is the key.

@@rahbid121 This is good advice. Correcting behaviour always feels silly at first, because it takes 2 or 3 corrections of the same behaviour before it even registers as a problem to your child. They are still learning how communication works, so bad behaviour is likely unintentional. They are just doing what they want without any self awareness, which is normal for there age unfourtanetly.

So my son is 2 years old and does everything in the video BUT I’m worried he’s a bit emotional distant from me. When I tell him I love you he sometimes says “thank you” or if I ask for a hug or kiss, he will say no and when he does hug or kiss me when asked, it’s not for long. Is this normal behavior? :/

Anahi, don't worry, a child just like any other human being has their own will and if the child doesn't want to show affection the way you expect them to do, it's okay. Let them be themselves and do what they feel like is right for them, emotionally. Don't force kisses and hugs on a child, they have their own opinion on this and if they refuse, it's better to respect that. Good luck being accepting! (If wording is weird somewhere, sorry - ESL)

Is your boy nearly three ? My boy is nearly 30 months old and is very delayed in comparison. He is in speech therapy. Now im thinking he may need extra help. But I dont know where to start.

They look like siblings. That would bring them along a lot. At this age, they parallel play, which is usually more by themselves but next to others.xx

Hi my lo is now 30 month.she is a late talker.after 24 she start to use single word.but now she can speak in 2word on her basic need.she can follow my instructions as well as she can copy my actions also.she is already going to a pre school at the age of her 2.she know some of her friends name among them she like a girl most.n she enjoy her company. But she is poor in eye contact with others n also responding her name.i m giving her speech therapy is she also need ot. Plz suggest me what I can I do to increase her eye contact n responding name action.i have seen your other vedio about child development age 2 she is quite ok with that but still I am confused.

Sounds like she may have autism
