Chef Alvin doesn't mess around. He is so respectable; despite how strict his criticisms portrays him. The fact that he respected not only their plates, but their culture, shows how passionate of a chef he really is. Also, Alvin's constant disappointed father act to Eric is great lol He's not always disappointed; but he definitely had a hand in making Eric determined to win Masterchef Canada.

Chef alvin is probably one of my favorite judges because of how humble he is and how cultured he is. When its time to eat with his hands he does it. He uses chopsticks for certian dishes. He knows when to recognize and when to put people in their place. It has nothing to do with he thinks he is better but he will not tolerate disrespect from contestants. I'm from the USA so our version is OVER DRAMATIC because people here are over dramatic. So it is nice to see how everyone is like in their country

I agree with Chef Michael. Eric's grandfather would, indeed, be VERY proud of his grandson. Not only did he honor his heritage in this moment, with his beautiful dish, he WON this challenge AND his season of Master Chef. You have truly brought your family honor, Chef Eric.
