I think modernisation of stories like Jane Austen's or even the BBC adaptation of SH doesn't quite work on me. It just feels extremely bizarre and takes away the charm and poshness perhaps from the whole intricately designed historical fantasy story. It would be great if in further adaptations they would be able to do justice to the original books and bring out the mellow, enchanting and intricate scripts, attires and altogether the atmosphere without making the adaptation so detached from the original but also far from the current modern society.

I'm a minority in this but not having read Persuasion, I love the movie. I felt the devastation when Anne thought Wentworth was marrying Louisa. I felt her emotion when she read his letter. All the actors and actresses did a great job. Why must all movies follow source material to the T. Movie daptations are like song cover. They are not the same but you get a different spin depending on who the writers and actors are. Dakota is personally my favorite Anne to watch.

I’m a twenty-year-old mixed girl who adores period dramas and seeing Louisa on screen for the first time made me so happy. Seeing a Black girl being represented as a young and hopelessly romantic girl is so powerful. I’d like to thank the casting director for breaking the stereotypes and crashing Bridgerton’s broken fantasy with the way they handled Marina’s characterization and harmful representation on screen in the first season. Louisa is allowed to be just as innocent as the other girls in that time period and it’s beautiful to see it. This movie happens to be unsurprisingly, written and directed by women who totally understand the importance of respectful representation of women. I’m sure it, out there, made a lot of girls happy. I’m currently reading the book by the way. Jane Austen actually included a mixed heiress in her unfinished novel Sanditon!

I am sorry but no. There are many beautiful and modern adaptations that happen in a different era. Usually the story is reworked so much it only resembles the original work in a few core points and themes, and that is ok! It's beautiful actually. BUT THIS?? IN THE SAME ERA? THE SAME EXACT STORY BUT WITH TOTALLY DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES? It feels like No constructive effort is done, only a destructive one. And that's not ok for the memory of the author of the original work. It is called bad plagiarism not creative inspiration.COME ON! It's ok to fail at a project in life at a few projects even it's ok. We learn from mistakes, but one needs to admit the errors to learn from them!! Why did you waist the talents of the actors and so much money for this? Why? You could have done so much better have you just created a new story, Anew plot, new characters in the same era, maybe dealing with he same issues,it could have been much better. Moreover, I' am not an expert, but sometimes, roles may be written specifically for an actor to match their acting style. Some roles are simply not made for some styles, either the actor changes his/her style to match the role or the role is designed for the said style. but it's not ok to make a defamation to a beautiful classic. And call it na adaptation. Of the protagonists characters change, the work changes,. The title changes the story changes it has nothing to do with the original. We love movies we love romance, we love new stuff too but please take us the audience into consideration when you make movies. LoL I've never been angry at a movie before, books perhaps, but movies 🤣 but this one? It feels like reading a scandalous article in a particularly scandalous sensational tabloid lol.
