30/11/2023 00:30 AM, Australia Currently listening to this song at midnight, the day of my 17th birthday. Somehow melancholy, somewhat bittersweet. And while listening to this song I've been having some thoughts. I was crying just before listening because I felt disappointed at all the achievements I had promised myself to accomplish in this past year which I've only half accomplished. I've always struggled with self-worth and my birthday coming around during one of my depressive periods has caused me to have some introspective self-doubting thoughts. Honestly, my past self would have never even believed that I made it all the way to 17. Through all my challenges I have made it thus far. And I guess I should be proud of that. In this next year I really want to become a better person, both to others and to myself. I want to improve myself both in the physical sense through starting consistently working out, and in the mental sense by allowing time for myself and balancing my life and my studies. I just wish I could be more confident. It's hard though when I've been hating myself for the past 7 years. Fuck, I don't know why I'm crying so much. Birthdays aren't meant to be sad days. I still have my whole life ahead of me, although why does it feel like it's almost at its end already. Listening to this song, I feel complete. The violin melody is beautiful combined with the moving synth progression. As I listen, time stands still, all is at peace, and I am in tune with my inner child. Life feels beautiful. Life is so beautiful and I'm so lucky to be alive, to listen to this music, to feel, to cry, to breathe. Even if I haven't accomplished my goals, it's okay. I won't give up, and no matter what anyone says or thinks, I will follow my own path. And now I begin a new chapter in my life. And I get to choose what happens next in my story. Will it all go smoothly? Probably no. But that's life. I am so grateful to experience this life Here goes nothing, Seventeen.
