Follow one little boy's magical adventure through Children's Fairyland in Oakland, California...
Before there was Disney, there was a magical fairytale-inspired amusement park in Oakland. When it first opened on September 2nd, 1950, admission to Fairyland cost less than 15 cents per person. While the price has gone up in the past seven decades, Children’s Fairyland is proud to have maintained its modest admission price making it one of the Bay Area’s most affordable family-friendly attractions. The park is designed to delight visitors of all ages, but is primarily geared toward children under the age of eight. (Our son was almost 5 at the time of our visit and had the most magical time!)
Discover the 60 storybook sets throughout the park, including Rapunzel, the Three Little Pigs, Pinocchio, and more. With fairytale inspired rides and a schedule full of plays, puppet shows, storytimes, music classes, magicians, and live music, provide an endless stream of low-tech, but high fun, entertainment through the day. Be sure to purchase a Magic Key in the gift shop, so your child can “unlock” the magic and listen to various stories (in English or Spanish).
Children’s Fairyland is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and relies on grants, bonds, and kind-hearted donations to keep its door open for generations to come. If you feel so obliged to donate to this magical cause, please visit fairyland.org.
