But even though Klaus is tearing up, shaking, sweating, snaps his fingers, pauses mid-sentence and has facial tics, he doesn't whine or complain about it. Not once - not even off camera. He just go on describing the chili and the sensation as calm and collected as he can.

Little amusing story. I am from the same city as Chili Klaus. I worked at a pizza place for about a decade, during that time a couple of regular customers were Chili Klaus and his wife at the time. They were regulars to the point that we all knew their address and usual orders. Klaus even invited one of our delivery drivers to his wedding. Have to admit though, he never ordered our store chili sauce on his pizzas, so I assume he had his own stuff he put on :P. I never really followed Chili Klaus during those years, wasn't until later I learned about the chili eating stuff, at the time I just knew that he and his wife were musicians and that I knew his wife's children as a kid (including going to birthday parties and such at their place), but that was before she met Chili Klaus.

Whoever does the sound mixing should be famous, they're so good at everything sound-related! Whether it's the echoing voices or the music pausing for the tense sound effects, they create an amazing environment that makes you feel like you're sitting right there with them, and feeling what they're feeling through sound!

2022, just discovered this show. Kudos for Sean, probably one of the best interviwer I ever listened to. Nice honest open minded and natural show...love it! And since this is like 50th episode I watched, I must say I find it amusing to see Sean suffer for a change :-D. All the best from Sweden!

I want to take a moment to appreciate the work of the crew. As much as we all like Sean, we would not have such an amazing product without the faceless heroes behind the camera. I never leave a Hot Ones video without thinking at least twice "man, the editing is so good". From the crispness of the sound capture and the mixing to the video and the hell that has to be scheduling celebs, every production aspect of this show is excellent, so here's my like for you all. Everything from Sean's skills as a host and an interviewer, the research team that get such great questions, the sound mixing, the filming and the editing it's all so good!!
