Thanks for the recipe. It's great. I did add a little flour to the chicken mixture to make it a little crispier. But the ingredients are spot on. I like the samba oelek addition.

My most fondest memories in India was having a plate of Chili Chicken and Manchurian with copious amounts of Bira and Kingfisher. It's only been a week back from my trip and I am dying to go back. Our people really know how to make some good munchies. (Or as we call it in the south, "BITES")

I make your recipe all the time but I add onions and it is amazing and tastes restaurant style. I tried another recipe today for chili chicken. I follow a big KZfaq cooking guru whose name I won’t mention but I tried her version of chilli chicken but I was disappointed and wish I made my usual which is your recipe.

Hmm.. Hakka dish that use "Chili". This is something new. I am a Hakka Chinese and Hakka people doesn't use chili in their food or not a common ingredients in their cuisine. You could said that they don't even like chili. Thanks to your video that I found out that Hakka Chinese community are quite a thing/mainstream in India. I guess that is why this Hakka dish use chili. I see that one of the ingredients in this dish is mushroom sauce. I am not familiar with this ingredients. Are they by any chance, the vegetarian oyster sauce? That is the closest Chinese ingredients that I could think of that could be refers as mushroom sauce. Vegetarian oyster sauce contained mushroom stock/essence/extract as main ingredients. Some brand may add carrot and/or celery stock/essence/extract.
@KravingsFoodAdventures5 жыл бұрын
Hey Leo! I’m so happy to hear from you! I didn’t know that the original Hakka doesn’t use Chilli. In India Hakka Chinese is huge but yes has been Indianized - lots of green chilly, garlic and coriander as well. It’s not a mushroom sauce but dark soya made using mushrooms as well. This is a popular Chinese brand we get here. I show it in many of my videos. It’s just like regular soya but thicker and darker. Thank you again!!!

dark soy is usually for color and light is for flavor. You should really have light soy sauce in your dish.

How about how much salt to add or when?
@KravingsFoodAdventures3 жыл бұрын
You only need to add salt if it's required. Typically the soya takes care of the salt but if you feel you need a little more taste it at the end and add salt to taste.

hi, if i leave out the chilli paste will this change the dishes flavour immensely?

Can you use all purpose flour instead of corn starch?
@KravingsFoodAdventures6 жыл бұрын
No! Please don't use flour. You need cornstarch for thickening.
@TheLeolee895 жыл бұрын
Usually in Chinese cooking, coating for a stir fry "frying" technique such as this dish, you could substitute it with tapioca flour or arrowroot flour. But DO NOT use wheat flour or any other flour that contain wheat.

@KravingsFoodAdventures5 жыл бұрын
Boullion cube or you can use ready made or homemade stock. It's just made by boiling Chicken bones to extract all the flavour.

Great recipe however, the teaspoon and tablespoon measurements are not right to what you are saying in the video vs what is written. In description saying 1 1/2 teaspoon of soy sauce but it’s 1 tablespoon. Same goes for the garlic and chili paste.

Just finished fucking this up because of a shit tutorial.... Found this one and I honestly wish I had found it earlier.... Eating this "dish" with "sauce" that turned back into oil straight after it cooled.....
@KravingsFoodAdventures6 жыл бұрын
Great? I'm not sure if you liked it? I'm not clear how this 'turned into oil'?

Kravings your tutorial is 100x better than the one I watched. I'm not even sure how the sauce "turned to oil" myself 🤷♂️
