This makes me calm down from all the stress that my best friend caused me in school, I’ve been staying home, even hurting myself and not eating! Well, this song caused me to believe in life again. I was finally able to urge myself to eat, stop hurting myself and stop not going to school. I don’t know what happened, but for some reason, this reminded me of vision about how my friends will feel if they never saw me again! It made me feel worse and now I’m not worse, I’m actually going to school, I’m eating my meals, and I’m not hurting myself. Thank you so much! I stumbled upon this when I downloaded "Embrace collection" by Arctic Empire. And heard this masterpiece at nearly 1:20:15 . And the reason I remember the timestamp because I trimmed it and heard it everyday. Since, I had no internet I could not search for what song it is. So, I saved this file as "The Unknown". It was already interesting, and the goal was clear: a survival crafting/submarine game set in an extraterrestrial ocean. The team grinded for a year... And then came PAX. At PAX 2014, hundreds of people were buried underwater with little more than an oxygen tank and a lifepod. The procedural generation engine was released for developers to test. And what a sight it was... but the true terror was yet to come. Using an early access model, a controversial take even for the time, Unknown Worlds forged ahead with... Subnautica. The first horror infested the planet of 4546B during this time, the docile whale-form known as the Reefback. Startling many players with its otherworldly moans, the Reefback presented an interesting opportunity to the designers. At the same time, players were seen making a beeline towards the crashed ship, the Aurora, a simple billboard at the time. Unknown Worlds fleshed out the Aurora, and created the most hated and feared monstrosity... the Reaper Leviathan. And so began the tone shift in Subnautica. Adapting later biomes into the new tone, Unknown Worlds transformed a simple survival game into a thalassophobic experience. Players, myself included, developed a lingering terror for the dark depths. Even the mighty Prawn Suit did little to catch my breath with the glowing flora and monstrous fauna. It's such a shame that the sequel was Below Zero. The devs have forgotten, or never understood, what made Subnautica great.
