How wonderful they appreciated Fred Astaire! He looks great and still moves wonderfully. Already 66 years old here, born in 1899.

I saw this program when I was 7 years old and I have carried for years the memory that when they won their Oscar, they said supercalifragilicistic expealidous. Thanx for posting and verifying that my memory was accurate.

This was in the documentary Bout them The Boys. That movie should have been nominated for Best Documentary Feature, they were even in Saving Mr. Banks, played by Jason Schartzman and B.J Novak. I would love to see this with them

Well that was not necessary to mention another one of the movie's songs in the acceptance speech but I'm glad the other one won. The Sherman Brother's music in Mary Poppins is pure whimsy

"I Will Wait for You" was not eligible for the 1964 awards. It was nominated in 1965 but lost to the exquisite "The Shadow of Your Smile." And neither Deneuve nor Castelnuovo actually sang it; their voices were both dubbed for the entire film. The woman who did the singing was the real life sister of Michel LeGrand, the composer of the beautiful score.

This Boy and She Loves You weren’t written for or first appeared in A Hard Day’s Night. This Boy also only appeared as an instrumental in the movie.
