Honestly they just need to rework the chime system, make maps simpler just a small circle and no scallable walls or obstacles just an arena and no more storm dmg, just impose a time limit where whoever is lower loses and for goodness sake add a healthbar, you have a functioning one with rhythm so just add it in, this solves storm cheese, running, and stall and heal builds, the time limit should be around 90 - 120 seconds this way people are forced to M1 and fight each other, because if they don't damage the other person more they lose, also if possible make it 3 rounds and whoever wins 2 first wins, this way it's never a skill issue because you can adapt after 1 loss and make a comeback, this is also healthier for the game because the pool of players is generally smaller, a longer match to match gamemode is better instead of quick 1s, and this allows you to just straight up have longer and more engaging fights = more fun. Yeah, flame hero blade should not be a thing bro. Back in the day it was skill vs skill, nowadays is who has the cheesiest build. Verse 1 mightve had some balancing issues like 2 bar strong left (they fixed most), but i'd rather fight a 600 hp 2 bar strong left than a current mage build.

with the monthly elo resets chime has gotten nearly impossible to play semi-casually since high elo players or just people who play everyday are reset back down to everyone else

Well i am 2 months after the video felt but theres still the same problem . The thing with chime is not fun anymore for casual people who play for fun but the thing is that the devs can do something about it to put casual mode and ranked mode . In rank people can be more sweaters because they gonna be honored for their win but in casual have a more chill game not something crazy (and maybe in casual could not have skulls so the people can play more this gamemode for fun and because they are not achieved with nothing anyway)

As much as we all want chime to be fixed, we know the devs won't do anything about it. Conquest won't solve the problem cause thats a team based gamemode and you can't play it alone (or you instantly lose cause your on random teams).

Prog'ing in chime isn't viable anymore not cause of the issue you said in the video, the exp chime give got nerfed alot a while ago and for me it's extremely noticeable cause ei would prog in chime a lot in verse 1 Chime is still a bit fun for me since I still use it for the sole purpose of having fun and testing builds but it is annoying when you run into that one guy who's running around waiting for storm and what not

to be fr, finding cheese and the most overpowered stuff and abusing bugs has and always will be a goal for people after progression, what else do you do? They DONE got good, they done all the bosses and found all the secrets, if they don't log off and go touch grass, it will inevitably come to this. whether its in chimes or not, this will always be a reality nothing is inherently fun in deepwoken, so each player has to find something fun in it for themselves

bro i used to be 1.2k elo but I kept on getting placed fighting against top 250s and I kept losing to the point where i dropped to 800 elo. Now i still fight 1.4k elo players in 800 elo.

Chime dosent only ruin itself, but the game too. Devs change mantras and weapons depending on chime metas. So all players are getting effected by some tryhards trying to do overpowered combos.

Honestly chime elo probably should’ve stayed hidden to the devs for catching those initial exploiters. This shitty system has brought the most placebo, smallest incentive that somehow caused the biggest tornado shift in chime fights for fun, to do anything to win. As well as spreading apart the thin matchmaking, with an even thinner build diversity.

I'm not completely in agreement with the statement that Nogo is the best player (given that I've beat him and I'm not NA similar to him), but he's definitely one of the best, and seeing a lot of the complaints about chime kinda sucks. Everyone agrees that they're there yet nobody in top chime comes together to say "yea this system is absolutely atrocious I'm tired of fighting mage builds," but instead come to the consensus that they'll just play mage builds as well (alternatively just playing whatever new broken buggy bs came out in the most recent weekly).

The options for playing chime are as follows, option 1 you can go ahead and be just a cheesy as them or option 2 you can build your mindset around each possible counter. Or the secret sinister third option, just don't play chime.

i think this just exposes a bigger issue with the deepwoken and its community itself there's nothing wrong with being bad at a video game, but people want to improve. after being trash talked constantly, people will go through two paths. either make a cheese build, or try to genuinely improve at the game and endure even more pain and hardship naturally, most people will just pick whats easier and pick a cheese build. their skill level doesnt improve but they falsely believe that theyre good due to the positive feedback loop of climbing the shit out of chime but thats just a theory
