@Alfred Einstein That is all the issue about. The Hindu king of Jammu (Hindu majority region) and Kashmir (Muslim majority region) wanted to remain independent from both countries. Then Pakistan attacked to claim the state and the king made a deal with India that if they helped him stop the invasion, he would join India and that is what happened. So now Pakistan says that the area it invaded is now theirs but also claims the rest of the state and India says that the territory was officially given to them. And then came along CHINA who also started to claim it.

Also personally, I feel like without this war and a start to better relations could benefit both countries. There are only three solutions to the problem 1. Give the disputed territory to either India or Pakistan 2. Divide the region definitively 3. Make the disputed territory an independent state Pakistanis and Indians are pretty much the same people, they have the same food, culture, clothes etc. The only thing that divides them is this issue and politicians who gain from this hatred and fear (and originally the religious problem between the Hindus and the Muslims)

I can tell you how much. Its physically painful, especially in the stomach. For 3 months the pain never goes away. Its been almost 5 years now and the pain is gone but The loneliness is palpable.

Tanks and low flying helicopters? In Kashmir valley? 1.) India, as a matter of policy, never uses heavy weapons in internal security duties. Look at the TO&E of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) (the primary CT formation of the Army in Kashmir). A normal Infantry Battalion has 4 Rifle Companies and 1 Weapons Company (that has heavy weaponry like MMGs and ATGMs). But an RR Battalion has 6 Rifle Companies and NO Weapons Company. Why? Because the sole purpose for which RR was created was to fight terrorism in Kashmir. Consequently they don't even use heavier infantry weapons, forget "tanks and low flying helicopters." 2.) Tanks are found mostly in plains or areas like Depsang Plains and Spanggur gap in Ladakh. Areas like Kashmir and other mountainous borders are not conducive to tank warfare which is why Indian Army has no Armoured Regiments positioned in these locations. You can look at the ORBAT of the Indian Army and see this for yourself. 3.) "Low flying helicopters"? Now you are just trying too damn hard to create some sort of an image in the mind of the uninitiated. Before the recent Apache purchase and HAL Rudra induction, Indian Army had exactly ZERO attack helicopters. Indian Air Force had 22 Attack Helicopters, all stationed in my hometown hundreds of km away from Kashmir (I see them in the sky here often so I know). So what kind of "low flying helicopters" are there in Kashmir? I know you want to spread propaganda, but at least try to sound a bit more authentic. "Tanks and low flying helicopters every 10 feet" in Kashmir lmao.
