At 0:56 why no close examination of the Imperial Dog House, over in the upper left-hand corner? Surely that's where they keep the vital Pekingese?

The Forbidden City was destroyed many times, once from fire during Ming dynasty. Later times was from Opium Wars, and the sack of the Old Summer Palace in 1860 by English/French. Finally the Boxer Rebellion.

I have to correct you that Forbidden city consist of different department and buildings, the natural disaster and social turnmoil only destroyed a tiny tiny portion of the forbidden city. It was whole remained mostly intact througuout the history

What is the name of that building at 0:04? Does it still exist? I visited Beijing for a few days a few years ago but I don't remember that one.
