Why does people think that it's the flag that they're aiming at? *It's the ships navigation, radar, and communication antennas and sensors!* From the eyes of the CCG, there is *no value in aiming at the flag (of any country for that matter) as it does not offer strategic nor tactical advantage*. Their objective is *to disable the ship to make sure that it is not usable for a good amount of time* (knowing how long for us to procure parts and repair our own vessels). The actions that should be taken (one that prevents escalation) are as follows: 1. Improve the emergency procurement law for cases that relate to damage to AFP and PCG equipment to ensure its availability for use. 2. Improve tactics and methodology of engaging against intrusions in our territory. 3. Procure more (bigger) vessels and aircraft that could establish presence and engage against would be intruders.
