Be careful when you are in China. It is the scam capital of the world. In every cash transaction, watch out for fake bills in return. My colleagues were cheated by a taxi driver who took their 100 rmb bill, switched with a fake bill, then said theirs was fake and demanded another. He did this three times.

Definitely feel the emotion, because the Great Wall is the permanent proof of Chinese civilization strategy, which is DEFENSE. The Wall clearly make the statement that China will always choose peace and defense to other civilizations, and will forever flourish on this planet.

@yiranchen2906 yes, tell this to Taiwan that always face the incursions of Chinese fighters or tell to the Japanese that always face the incursions of Chinese ships on their waters, or tell this to the recent incident happened with Philippines. Hearing the radio every day, it doesn't look like China chose defence. Instead, they choose a long-term strategy to make other tired of them until eventually something will happen. By the way, all Chinese people living in China who are here on KZfaq obviously are committing a crime against China since the usage of a VPN in China is forbidden. If you love your Country, love also its law and live with that. Good luck.

If what China does to Taiwan is defence, then we need to rewrite the meaning of defence. They argue with every country nearby, pretending that everything is their land or water. Call it defence...

Not really. Only the terracotta warriors are 2000 years old - there's nothing else in Xi'an that's that old. And Xi'an doesn't have many ancient buildings in the city. It's not an attractive city for history buffs.

@@lingfengge6666 Besides the Terracotta Warriors, there is the Banpo matriarchal clan, and even further back, the Lantian ancients. Of course, too many ancient relics no longer exist. But to understand the rich history of a country or a civilization, it is not just about what you can see now. More importantly, it is the way that the cultural and historical heritage of thousands of years has brought to this city and the people living there, and the subtle historical accumulation, which is not available in other cities. So let me ask you a question, except for Xi'an, the ancient capital of 13 dynasties in ancient China, which other city is more suitable for understanding the culture and history of China at its most glorious time?

You two are so cute! The only thing is maybe don't munch on the ice of the Great Wall (or whatever attraction it is) next time, because the maker of the ice might be that kitty lol! This video is making me homesick in the UK. Also, I really recommend going to Hangzhou, my hometown, for a visit if you have time, it is absolutely beautiful, extremely green, very modern and you will love it.

For foreign friends who haven't been to the Great Wall: skip Badaling and go to Mutianyu instead. It's less crowded, has beautiful scenery, and is much more interesting.

Nice video! I went to the forbidden city recently, brought my big Olympus camera, rode videomic pro and a Joby tripod. No big issues. One guard didn't like my tripod, but once I argued that everyone else brought umbrellas without issues it was fine. The umbrellas were after all quite a bit larger than my small tripod 😀

Fantastic to see the Great Wall through your eyes guys, thank you. Finally some videoing that shows the height of the steps and the steepness of the wall in places. I did it in my late 60's and my legs were like jelly on downward walk. Yes, loved the railings..lol Well done taking the taboggan !

Enjoy watching your video, thanks for showing it with so much love! I can only imagine how many steps you guys did back and forth on the Great Wall to get the result..... and still you both look pretty good shape despite the effort. I've been there 3 times in the past 20 years, everytime it was exhausting just to make one round trip without much talking, so I know the hardship of doing this and looking good at the same time. VERY IMPRESSIVE SHOW! This section of the wall was built roughly ~600 years ago. The part that were built 2000+ years are at western China (Gansu province), they were built on terracotta or thick sand or wood (use whatever material was available at the surrounding). Those have fallen down and only left a footprint.

Some more highly recommended cities in China: Chengdu (famous for their famous spicy hot pot and peppers also home to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda breeding, where all of the Pandas you see in the world are from) which is close to Chongqing, Guangzhou (famous for dim sum and one of the biggest wildlife theme parks in the world local to Guangzhou), Xi’an (it is just as historically rich as Beijing as it has Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s grave and the famous Terracotta Army) Also maybe Shenzhen but I don’t really know any really cool places you could visit there
