CHINA PEAK | Hitting the Slopes with the Crew | 7-11-21
We had an EPIC day hitting the slopes at China Peak. Despite being super-hot down in the valley, a cloud front rolled in and we actually got rained on. It made what could have been unbearingly hot, pretty darn nice for the most part.
China Peak can be characterized as extremely loose dirt. It makes for some pretty lively cornering to say the least, especially at speed. The GoPro is extremely deceptive as it doesn’t show the steepness or the technical nature of these trails at all. Matter of fact, it makes it look pretty easy. However, that isn’t the case at all; at least for me. This was some tricky riding and it will test your skill.
We got 6 trips up the ski lift in total. Each trip is a slow 20-minute ride. We logged a total of 26 miles but we really should have avoided the 6th run. We were all so incredibly fatigued by that time that it wasn’t enjoyable coming down. Unfortunately, I only filmed the first half of the day. We broke for lunch at the café and I didn’t film after that. And, that is when some of the more epic routes came.
The green trails are fast and enjoyable. Still very loose dirt though so you have to warm up and get your cornering down. We spent most of the day on the black diamond routes and they were incredible.
All in all, I will be back. We had a blast!
Thanks for watching,
Todd
