About this Project:
Sichuan Province is a series where I build a city based on the Chinese city Chongqing. In this series, I aim to embed my own travel experience in China to create a highly detailed, functional and massive city in Cities Skylines.

I love these non-american non-european city builds. You don't see them nearly as often and they're a lot harder to pull off. This is looking great so far.

Wow.. this series has been so great! Really love the mixing in of real life footage. You do a good job of making this small scale detailing look easy, which is far from the case in this game. Also, one trick to doing the invisible footpaths is to use visible ones first, get them into place, then convert them to invisible footpaths.

Yep I use this trick quite often myself. Doesn't work when the path segment is too short, but even then you can use Move It! to stretch the segment, replace it, and move it back in place.

Your treatment to the cliff and stairs are just wonderful, they really represent the essence of Chongqing. You probably have known already, Chongqing is also know as Shancheng, which means 'Mountain City'. Many of the local names reflect this. Localities are commonly named according to their respective geographic features, such as something end with - po (坡/slope), - ti (梯/stair), -ping (small platform/坪), examples are Jiulongpo (literally Nine-Dragons Slope), Shibati (Eighteenth Stairs) and Yangjiaping (Yang's family Platform). Hope this helps your naming choices. Grate work!

I love the stairways cutting the mountains. We don't see those often and they are beautiful and give such a different vibe to the city.
@yakky1586
@yakky1586 4 жыл бұрын
Here's a fix for people floating on the stairs: draw a pedestrian path with multiple nodes, then use Move It to have the path line up with the stairs. After that, you use the Upgrade function to change the pedestrian paths into invisible paths. It's more work overall, but it's also more realistic. Keep up the good work.

This is such a beautiful city. With the combination of traditional and historical Chinese buildings + high dense districts and modern office buildings, this could be a very exotic project. I am enjoying every episode you are making. Keep the magic going ;)

A couple cool ideas. 1. A massive transport hub, including trains, trams, busses, planes, and such 2. Like some sort of a tennis center, modeled after the U.S. Open in NYC. 3. A very nice, detailed train and car tunnel leading under a possible artificial mountain. But otherwise, this city's amazing, especially being a native of China.

I've watched all your Sichuan province videos. They are all fantastic, especially this one. I am very suprised that you have such detailed understanding of Chinese cities. I was about to suggest you to build some enclosed conmmunities and you just did it! By now I might suggest you to maybe build some typical Chinese schools (Both primary school and Uni). They are quite different from thoes of other countries from my point of view. Usually they would be relatively larger compared to like UK's and they are enclosed by fences as well. Unis are basically like large parks with garden, large palyground and massive teaching buildings and living areas. PS, Is that park clip in your video Renmin Park in Chengdu? Just curious :D

When people cross the road it means there is an intersection there, and thus there is a pedestrian crossing. You can disable these crossings using Traffic Manager, then they won't be crossing there anymore.

@dxelson
@dxelson 4 жыл бұрын
@@pietercl 23 is way too small for curved in my opinion. Remeber that bigger moniotrs also mean less pixel density if you keep the same resolution. Higher resolution also means higher performing PC needed to game at that resolution. I game on a laptop thats why i only use a 23" 16:9 1080 monitor. But i use both screens for workflow, not only gaming. I think regular 24" monitors are pretty much standard. Curved monitors should really only be used for ultrawide 21:9 ratio not 16:9 in my opinion.
