When Chang hye Jin pulled the string upto her lips I melt
I only made it to 10:55 . These commentators are spewing out such nonsense saying things like..."Ki Bo Bae is strategically the last shooter in the line up because she knows when to shoot a 10." Like shooting a 10 is now an issue of strategy instead of "It's the best thing you can do!!!" Lol, clicked the mute to enjoy the rest of the match. (To bad there isn't an option to just mute the commentators so you can listen to the sounds of the match...)

It's actually not that much of a bullshit because focus is paramount in this sport and if your team missed their mark slightly there is an immense pressure for the last shooter to deliver and make up for the team. There's obviously a big difference between 'a 10 would be really great' and 'you shoot 10 or we lose' and it makes sense to give that pressure to the most seasoned shooter who knows how to handle the pressure.

It's unbelievable to me that all of these TV productions cut it the same way, very poorly. Close up of face, cut to close up of target. So dumb. Show the long shot of the entire flight path of the arrow. Why can't they figure this out?
@MaeLSTRoM19974 жыл бұрын
I don't think that would really make a good view. The distance from shooter to target is about 70m and the arrows are only like 7mm in diamater. The arrows would be practically invisible.

I like to make a little suggestion for Korean Archers. Rather than pull the string as you release the arrows, just open your two fingers at the same time. I think this will help your accuracy. Practice and see, what you think of it? Thank you.

On second thought, were you referring to a clicker for sighting the bow? Even so, how one releases the string has much to do with how accurately the arrow fly, I think. It's like, squeezing the trigger of a gun v. jerking the trigger finger.

i think the clicker does affect your arrow accuracy. " china is using it
@oscarmedina13035 жыл бұрын
The purpose of the clicker is to tell the archer the draw is at exactly the same point each time. The release comes as quickly as possible after the clicker clicks. How far an archer draws, has an effect on the amount of foot pounds of thrust that is applied to the arrow, which affects arrow speed. A draw that is short by 1/16 of an inch will cause the arrow to strike lower on the target. A draw 1/16 of an inch longer will cause the arrow to strike higher on the target. So yes, a clicker improves accuracy.

Why does China draw sooo fast
@r4inxs5105 жыл бұрын
The longer you pull the weight of the bow the more your arm starts to shake and the longer you keep your bow drawn the longer you have to aim and align the bow but you'll need to have stronger arms, shoulder and back muscles. Drawing faster can also give you the benefit of having more time if you need to redraw the bow. I dont know which one it was but I saw one team competition where Ki Bo Bea was drawing as usual and aiming for a little to long and had to redraw the bow (most likely because something didn't feel right) but she didn't have enough time so she didn't gain any points (they still won though). It is mostly a matter of feeling some people prefer to draw faster and some prefer to do it slower. In archery it is very important that the way you draw, aim and release feels natural to you. You train good form and technique with your coach but the same form and technique does not apply to everyone in the same way (we all have different bodies afterall) so you got too change it up a little bit and make it your own. If you compare Choi Misun and Ki Bo Bea for example you can see that Misun likes to do that little pause a lot more then Bea, Bea's draw is a lot more fluid not because it is better or worse but because it is better for them personally.

R4IN Xs their set up is really fast too
@r4inxs5105 жыл бұрын
@@B1SQ1T Yeah, that s true. Especially compared to normal non-pro archers :P It kinda has to be. If you can shoot fast and precises you 'll have more free room for when somone of your teammates (or yourself) fucks up and has to draw twice. But I would guess that pretty much all professional archers have to find a middle ground between shooting the way that feels best to you and shooting fast. This is I guess also a point where the team composition plays a big part. If you have only fast shooters there is a chance that your team is not as precise but you have more free room for mistakes. You could also have a super fast shooter that saves time for the super slow but very precises shooter. This is a realy interesting topic and I guess you could talk hours about it. I personally wonder how they all would shoot if they had no time limit. I would also like to see the chinese and korean team in a competition like the Lancaster tournament where you can shoot an 11 as highest score.
