More 'undeniable' evidence from someone who's desperately trying to justify their stupidity

I have never, EVER heard a claim like this...

So Hal, without any evidence, without reason, without study, is just going to accept something because he desperately wants to. What arrogance, what conceit.

One of the characters used in this argument is supposedly Chinese symbol for 'flood'. It isn't, it's actually the Chinese word for 'boat', "chuan" which is supposed to combines the character for 'boat' plus 'eight' and 'people' i.e. Noah's Flood. Except the character misread as 'eight' is really the character for 'divide' (they're very close in appearance) which coupled the lower symbol for 'people' "kuo" really means 'quarrel, disagree'. The first part of a Chinese symbol (right-hand or upper) is supposed to give you some indication of the meaning (often very vague); the second part gives you the sound (at least how it was pronounced sometime in the last 3,000 years). The second half gives you the sound of 'chuan', but originally the sound was closer to "chyan", as in 'lead' (the metal). The signs appear in other modern Chinese words like "leaded/unleaded gas" It's silly, but the Chinese themselves will use folk-etymology to give mystical or profound meanings to what originally were common words chosen for their sounds to make them easier to remember.

The biggest problem with this idea is that the snake being the Devil is a relatively modern idea comoared to bith the story andbthe character. The snake being the Devil is a Christian invention and Christianity is only 2000ish years old. How did a character that's 2000 years older than that know about an idea that didn't come about until 2000 years or more later. Oh, god did it. 🙄

Chinese characters have nothing whatsoever to do with "god" or the stories in Genesis. Read on if you want to know why: Originally, Chinese characters were purely pictographic. They were used to represent the associated item, but were also used, early on, to write other words with the same pronunciation. As the writing system was being used more and more, this system proved untenable. There was too much confusion about what words were signified by what characters. Context was needed to disambiguate them. So they came up with the system of 214 radicals and added those to the pictographic characters to clarify which word with that pronunciation was meant. It's crazy to look at modern forms of characters and chop them up into parts which have no connection with the actual meaning/etymology of each character, but that's exactly what those Christians are trying to do to pretend that their "Genesis story" was known even before the birth of Christ way back in early times of the formation of Chinese characters. But this is obviously nonsense. Deriving the meaning of each character must follow the actual history of Chinese characters and how they came to be constructed. The Christians who believe this nonsense dissect these characters into parts which have meanings they never had, in the hope of proving that the myths of Christianity are somehow universal and appear even in the evolution of the Chinese language. Here's a simple example of what they do. The character 木 is a pictograph of a tree. To signify a forest, another character was created by bundling up two trees side by side: 林, smushing them horizontally to fit inside the space occupied by a single character. This character was pronounced "lin" and it meant "forest". It appears in many other characters as a PHONETIC component, giving those characters a pronunciation very similar to "lin", BUT HAVING NO SEMANTIC CONNECTION BETWEEN THEM. BUT the Christians who believe this nonsense ignore the fact that the two trees were chosen as a phonetic component only and would take a character like 琳, meaning "jade" (the jade radical has been included on the left side of the "lin") and construe it as having something to do with trees, when the two-tree part is present only as a phonetic component, not a semantic one. Another example is taking 婪 (林 plus the woman radical [女]) to mean "covet/desire" which they construe as two trees (but this character has nothing to do with trees) + Eve (the woman), supposedly pointing at Eve and the story of the two trees in Genesis. Another even more fanciful example which is grossly misanalyzed in the book that started all this: 船. The CORRECT etymology: the boat radical on the left with the right side being a phonetic component pronounced "yan". Since the right side is merely a phonetic component, it is an error to think any part of it has anything at all to do with the MEANING of the character. So, that's the complete etymology: originally the right hand side gave the sound, and the boat radical hinted at the meaning. Result, the character for a boat or a ship. Now for the etymology hallucinated by the Christians: they chop the phonetic component into two parts so as to see what it adds to the meaning of the character (which we know is an error): mouth (whose sense they alter to mean "person") and eight, and so they think this is 8 people in a boat! They consider that the character 船 tells of Noah, because they erroneously believe that it consists of "boat" + "eight" + "people". Any reliable etymological dictionary of Chinese, and notably the venerated Shuowen Jiezi, will tell you that the right side of this character is actually a phonetic component, present only to give the SOUND of the character, and has nothing to do with the meaning, but if that weren't enough, the right half of this character is, in fact, used as a complete character all by itself with a meaning and a known etymology: it means "ravine" or "gully" because the two parts actually mean not "eight people" but "divide" and "mouth/opening" (it is a DIVISION in a hillside which gives water an OPENING to flow down). Its etymology has NOTHING to do with the concept of EIGHT or the concept of PEOPLE! (The character used for "eight" in modern Chinese was originally a pictograph depicting something divided in two, which is its sense in this character). I had a back and forth message session with a Christian who was pushing this same nonsense on his channel. After several messages were exchanged, in true brainwashed Christian fashion he put an end to the discussion telling me I was not welcome to post any further comments on his channel and he was completely comfortable to believe it even if it was nonsense. He didn't care if his beliefs about it were wrong, even if they are actually a fantasy!

Spamming trolls have no rational arguments, so they resort to empty threats. That makes their religion look even worse to me. I've no wish to be on their team, and their notion of an allegedly perfect deity who tortures people for all eternity because they weren't convinced of his existence makes absolutely no sense.

Threats that if your God were real, he'd be so super pissed at those who aren't convinced that he's real that he'd have them horribly abused and tortured for all etermity- not a reason to believe your God is real. It is a sign that you have no rational argument.

The pertinent question is why did an all powerful all knowing g0d deliver his message to a bunch of illiterate bronze age desert nomads when he just as easily could have delivered the message to the Chinese who were already urbanised and had written language.

If you ask a Christian what they know about their hell, especially one that only knows how to spew out Bible verses, they have NO idea that there are numerous different versions of hell. And when asked how they know what hell is like, they give out bible verses that give different accounts of hell, not at all consistent, since those accounts are not built an an actual hell but each writer's own thoughts of what hell is. The lake of fire is the second death.” (Revelation 20:14) This LITERALLY says hell is thrown into a lake of fire. It says death itself is thrown into a lake of fire. So is Hades hell? How do I know? If you KNEW that there was some eternal paradise awaiting you, do you think that you would stay on this earth?
