You will have to be careful with the air intake underneath when you are going through water crossings as it will force water into the heater 👍

well done your doing a great job. You may want to move that fuel pump outside though, it'll drive you two nuts. I've slept many nights in trucks with these and in the dead of night its 10 times louder

Thanks! Yes we've had before 🤣 it's annoying but this one is buried beneath mattress and under chairs. I would not mount outside due to water.

when you put the diesel feed lines through the base plate, have you used a grommet to ensure that vibrations through the vehicle body don't eventually cut through the lines after some period of driving? Really enjoy watching you two and your adventurous driving ... and yes .. I have subscribed.🙂 Cheers and best wishes from 'down under' .. stay safe.

Nice install mate. 👍🏼 I have one of these temporarily installed in my Paj for the winter but intend installing permanently in the summer so this is a great resource I shall be using, thanks for sharing. Whilst I'm no expert I would recommend getting a Carbon Monoxide sensor just in case and also with regard the fuel pump, the manufacturer suggest you fit it at an angle between 15° / 35°. Not sure why but thought I'd mention it.

They are just great right! Yes plan on a smoke/carbonm alarm before we next head off when it is ever allowed. Oh right thanks I can't imagine why either unless it is to do with wear or something. I got a spare anyway 😂

They are especially for the price. The way things are you may have plenty of time to get one as this lockdown seems to be never ending. I only really use mine as it saves messing about de-icing in a morning LoL. No worries mate, it said it in the half arsed instructions so I thought I'd mention it. The unit I bought was one of those pre-built units in a case and when I opened it up to check connection etc, I noticed the pump was at an angle. Great channel, new subscriber here 👍🏼

I've sussedd out some basic controller info... To change from the H 1-6 mode to degrees centigrade mode hold down top left button. To purge the pump press up and down arrows together and hold, letting go stops the purge. Holding down the top two buttoms brings up the timer icon, holding down the bottom two buttons brings up the timer adjust mode and on/off button to move through the values, but I've not played any further with this yet. For remote control pairing hold down together the on/off button and the down arrow and enter OC1and then press any key on the remote, press the top left button to exit.

Looks like its gonna work a treat. Couldn't tell from the video but how noisy is the actual heater and fuel pump?
@JKoverland

It's not all that bad can be insulated fairly well but there is a distinct clicking but wouldn't keep me awake I don't think and I am a light sleeper. But I will have to let you know at a later date 😄👍

Nice work! If you still have the pipes coming back from the engine bay you could add an egt cooler from a modern diesel (transit is cheap and good size for this) to the heaters exhaust and then circulate the engine coolant through it to preheat the engine. We all know how much old indirect diesels like starting when it cold!
@JKoverland
@JKoverland 3 жыл бұрын
Thats a dam good idea! Thanks for that as I've always thought how good a pre heater would be. I've removed the old pipes a long time ago but could always run some new ones 😂

I have just fitted a heater with the same controller, it is different to the usual lcd controllers and the buttons don't do the same as in the videos I've looked at. Do you have any instructions for this controller you could share please?
@JKoverland

Sorry I can't answer that as I have no idea on the operational side of the controller I've only just sussed how to turn on off up and down 😂

Any reason you didn’t put the pump underneath? The diesel feed is underneath as is the tank so you’ve gone into the cab and back out. Also extend the air intake underneath so it’s doesn’t draw water when wading. I used to have an Ebpacher in a 110 and it’s was lovely looking at these Chinese ones for my current two landrovers
@JKoverland
@JKoverland 3 жыл бұрын
Just because I didn't think it would do to well in the elements from the electronic side. Air points down to create an air lock and also tucked up. Wouldn't be on when on the move. We've had three and do rate then pretty well 🙂
