I can tell that Veronica respects and loves her grandparents very much. The way she acts around them and her demeanor in their presence shows how important she thinks they are. I hope that she will inspire other young adults/youth to treat their grandparents with the same adoration and respect. PS: I came here after watching a “tea” channel talking about what a crappy person she is, but after watching a few of her videos I disagree with their opinion. I find her to be very relatable and down to earth.. and sensitive. She’s earned a new fan. 😊👍🏼

Cultures are different, I'm Mexican and my grandma has a bunch of stuffed animals in her room and saves any cute toy. She also saves containers which come with food and re uses them. I think in many lower income families specially the older generations save everything and value what they own and getting rid of things which might be of use SOME day is a not an option. House holds are so much more about functionality than aesthetics.

Same same, depends on the type of Asian too! I'm Cambodian dating a Filipino, I wasn't brought up hugging/cheek kissing and showing too much physical affection. So he noticed right away when I didn't really hug my parents when they came over for dinner and stuff.. I'm like yeah it's not really our thing to be too touchy. But we still love eachother, just show it in other ways. My mom definitely is the type to never say bye xD

You’re so lucky. My grandparents aren’t around anymore and I’m just around your age. My gramma passed away a few years ago and I loved her food the way you love your grandparents food. She made traditional German and Polish food. I did the same with her when she cooked, I’d be like “what’s this?” & “what’s that?” And she’d say, “obviously it’s such and such” as she looked at me like I was crazy and continued to whip up her amazing meals and serve us as if it were an every day meal in America. Cherish your grandparents. They are so so so important and you may think you appreciate them, but when they’re gone you’ll be kicking yourself for not sucking up every second of their existence and food. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Something I had to learn being an Asian American is that when I visited Korea to see my relatives I'd ask if I can help out with the cleaning and they'd say no and I'd just accept their answer. HOWEVER, in asian culture I later learned, the appropriate thing to do is to clean anyway. My sister was shocked when she found out that I didn't help clean and told me that I had to practically fight them to allow me to clean even though I'm a guest. That's what's expected, even if they don't outwardly express it. Yeah, it confused the shit out of me because in America a no is a no.

I’m so late to discovering this woman’s mukbang videos, see she stopped making content here. All I see is hateful video edits of her; after seeing one of her videos KZfaq recommends me the hateful ones made by viewers afterwards. I’m shocked how much hate she gets and I still can’t find a legitimate reason for the disdain. I have to assume most of her “hateful” followers were probably kids or teens because the things they said that they hated about her were childish. Like how she slurps or saying she’s greedy with food when they edited to make her seem that way. I would go watch the lengthy original videos she made and I would see how the haters took it out of context. Anyway this video is so sweet with her grandparents. I can see what you mean, some cultures do expect you to just do it without being asked even if they say no it’s ok. But maybe, who knows, she might’ve tried cleaning once even after they said no and then yelled at her as a kid so then she she learned to just not do it. Many households are different even when they share a culture with other households. You’re the most recent comment I could find, every else is from like 3 years ago. I would love to see more content of hers but it seems like she stopped. I really enjoy her talking about her life as she eats, it’s refreshing and calming. Some mukbangers just talk about other people or latest internet dramas as they eat and it’s so exhausting to hear that but she would only talk about her own personal stuff. Hope she’s doing well ❤
@GetUnwoke
@GetUnwoke Жыл бұрын
@@RavenDots115 yeah I get what you mean. Some families just do things differently, and there is no universal cultural code per se, even if it can be seen the way, probably even more so because she also comes from a biracial background. Idk why she gets so much hate either. She's super open and honest and you can tell she's not faking her personality or feelings like other KZfaqrs do. I personally like her a lot and enjoy her videos. Idk why she stopped but she usually takes long breaks between videos sometimes. Maybe that's what it is. Not too long ago she was also diagnosed with prediabetes, so she probably has to take care of herself right now and can't or rather shouldn't be eating huge greasy carby meals till she gets her health in check.

im sorry, but Chinese so much more complicated then that. I am learning it right now and it is so hard because you have to memorise so many characters, know the chinese way to say it, the english meaning, the meaning behind the actual characters, know what character combination makes a word, and be able to pronounce the words correctly it's not that simple to do unless you have been taught since you were born or chinese is your native language.

i’m full chinese but born in canada & i don’t know chinese. i can speak but it is really hard, chinese is probably the dumbest language to ever exist, or at least the most poorly designed. after taking classes for 10 years i basically still know very little, basically “chinese” is many many dialects, the two most common being mandarin & cantonese, with two writing scripts, traditional & simplifed. (the writing scripts and speaking is different, the dialects usually use the same script, simplified, but spoken differently, and traditional is rarely used) & right off the bat you see that it is quite complex already since the speaking & writing scripts are not correlated. now about that,, there are around 50000 chinese characters, no alphabet. sounds in east asian languages don’t really sound like english, many sounds in english don’t exist in chinese and vice versa. there are also four tones & you gotta master them, pronouncing a word even slightly differently can give you a completely different meaning. and then, writing & reading, if you don’t know what a character is, you don’t know what it is, you’re clueless. you can’t sound it out like we can in english, or in spanish or french etc. you know NOTHING. the only way to know what a character is pronounced and what it means is to memorize it. so memorizing 50000 characters if you want to know everything in chinese (which no one knows) & each character is a word, but not all words are characters. some words are more than one character, so you have to learn those and memorize those too. chinese is really stupid to learn, and anyone learning language to travel abroad etc, PROBABLY only learns how to speak basic/important things & at the most read basic things. chinese is by far, the hardest language in my experience.

Homegirl, I thought my parents house is the only house and kitchen that only look like that. Hahaha. I guess I don’t feel too alone on that. I guess it’s a Asian thing. I’m not going to lie, OG’s food are the best. Especially the eggs. Lol. One thing I do want to let you know, old people will always refuse your help but always do help them wash the dishes because they are old. Even if my parents don’t want me to wash the dishes, I will regardless because they took their time to cook for me. Just a thought that I let you know. Your grandpa does care about you. Cooking for you and all. And you are really sweet. I don't get the hate( didn't want to talk about it). i watched a couple of your videos and i was like wow! that's a lot she is getting. And after this video, i just had to comment. Keep on loving yourself and you grand parents and everyone. Stay positive, you are doing well. It is really hard to see people with family values these days. next time you can surprise your grandparents with some newly learnt Chinese words. Not a lot but some. It will make them happy.
