Could it be that the difference between "cai" and "zhi" is only problemtic for English speakers? As a speaker of German, it seems to be that "cai" means "erst", while "zhi" means "nur" in my language.

However, part of it is contradictory to what my Chinese teacher taught us about 刚才。 It is not supposed to be used with verbs with a perfective aspect, like 吃完 or 到. Instead it should be used with imperfective verbs like 在吃， 打电话 etc。I've written the following examples : CORRECT: 我刚才在吃饭。 刚才有人打电话。 INCORRECT：我刚才到。我刚才吃完。in these sentences only 刚刚 can be used. What do you think about it?

I'm not so sure about that 才35度而已. As a Chinese I would say that meaning "come on it's not so cold, only 35 degree, nothing serious". If I want to express it's 35 degree and cold indeed, I would use 只有35度

it's funny because 才 means age in Japanese, so like 18才 means 18 years old and is pronounced "sai", very similar to it's chinese pronunciation.

do the different uses between "剛才" and "剛剛才" vary between region and/or country? in Northern China they seem to be pretty interchangeable with "剛才" primarily used as "just now" while "剛剛才" being more feminine (or so it seems)

I really didn't get why you avoided to use the word "just" instead of "only", I mean with "just" they all make normal senses. I've just discovered today, I just got here at 4:30 etc.

So, if I have it right, 剛剛 is a time word, and 剛剛才 is an adverb in the usual sense?

There are some other use of 才 that's not mentioned. for example: - 你傻x - 你才傻x，你全家都傻x -这会出人命的！ -他才不会管呢 It's really hard to find equivalent in English.

Can you try to justify where to use 二 and where to use 两？cause they both mean two, but I'm not aware of any pattern of where you would use on or the other. You're just taught either one or the other...

What about 有才 as in talented? e.g. 他有才 - he is talented.

isn't one of the main uses of 才 to show an action was completed in some kind of an unsatisfactory or negative way. So for example 我才丢了我的钱包 :( As opposed to 就 showing we're all happy about how the action was completed so ..... 我就找到了我的钱包 :) Or is this kind of an uncommon spoken use??
