Pete, here in America we have a brand of spray gun marketed by Astro Pneumatic which Astro calls the Europro Series. Their guns actually come from a Taiwanese company called STAR. These are really good guns for cheap money. They make them in three flavors Blue (RP) Green (HVLP) and Gold (LVLP). In the UK STAR might actually market these guns under their own name which they can't do in the USA as Astro has an exclusive agreement with them. Their Mini Gun is just as good as my MiniJet 4 for which I paid five times the price. If you get a chance I would recommend you try one of these out.

Hi Sataman, I've just had a look, they are sold as Star in the UK, and, as you say, seem reasonably priced. I'll have to check them out and see how they perform, thanks for the information. Cheers 👍

Many around justifyably showing the more obvious physical differences to Devilbiss when so many ebay sellers claim them to be. But far more practical to hear the functional differences from you.

Painting a small item like a tank with the pro lite can be challenging but most would use it on larger jobs. Pete the end results are great and the pro lite is great for slamming that clear coat on. :)

Hi buddy, I totally agree. With all the overhang areas there are, especially on the FZ6 tank here there is plenty of room for error with a gun like this that pumps it out. I hadn't used this for probably 2 years but remembered it needed more pressure than the original to atomise the clear well, and obviously, bumping it up more makes it even more fierce, add that to the fact it was only 12c or around 52f it makes it more of a challenge but that half the fun I guess, cheers 👍

Bom vamos por partes, você mora no REINO UNIDO EUROPA , por uma pintura destas recebe centenas de EUROS por seu trabalho então basta 1 ou 2 trabalhos para comprar uma GUN PAINT ORIGINAL mas para países como a EUROPA ou USA AUSTRÁLIA e JAPÃO , estes podem facilmente adquirir tal equipamento original mas para o resto do mundo e quase impossível por causa da diferença cambial e altas taxas alfandegárias tornando as originais impossivel de adquirir onde tambem o trabalho se ganha pouco , eu pintei uma PIAGGIO VESPA 1982 na década de 90 com base coat e clear coat uma velha spray gum devillibis , com nozzle 1.7 errado e por incrível que pareça a pintura ficou boa 😂😂😂😂😂 o verniz ficou com brilho impecável e o prata sem manchas, os fabricantes de PAINT GUM deveriam aprender com os CHINESES de após um ou 2 anos baixarem seus preços de modelos anteriores para suprir o mercado de pintores hobby para diminuir a invasão chinesa e abrirem outros mercados globais vendendo pelos correios como o CHINES faz mas se prendem a uma bolha do passado e nada fazem pra mudar isso ate falirem um dia 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

@alexextreme3026 Olá, amigo, sei que temos muita sorte de poder comprar essas pistolas pulverizadoras caras. Também percebo que essas armas chinesas são uma boa maneira de as pessoas menos afortunadas ou que não querem gastar muito dinheiro com essas armas caras poderem pulverizar com um orçamento pequeno. O que tenho tentado fazer é reunir algumas armas chinesas mais baratas para que as pessoas possam ver quais são melhores, não necessariamente mais caras, apenas melhores. Me de tempo. meu amigo e eu receberemos alguns comentários por aí. Felicidades 👍

I've seen several mixed reviews on that gun, and the verdict for me still stands. For as much as it costs (seemingly cheap, but....) you could get an FLG5 for a few bucks more with a better quality build, better atomization, wider fan, and efficient fluid output.

To a point, I would agree, having said that, I got mine from Aliexpress and paid around 60 USD, which is under half the price of an FLG5 in the UK. There is no doubt in my mind that the FLG5 will last longer, I hardly use these clones and have had a few problems with them, all the FLG5 needs is a new seal on the tip now and then, cheers buddy 👍

@@peteshobbies5383 Absolutely, the FLG5 is over double what a clone will cost you, in the UK. You'll manage with a cheap gun but the atomisation just isn't there on cheap guns.

Hi buddy, you're right. Thin gets the job done by wet covering the work rather than fine atomisation, paying more for something doesn't always mean better, but it does in this case, cheers 👍

Hi buddy, yes, it's very similar, but the atomisation on these isn't as good. Hence, I was using it at 2.5 bar for clear, to try and atomise finer

I have the sri ntools and a 4000 ntools. Both are good guns. I like the 4000(sata clone) most. But largly becouse it puts out a lot more paint and has a hudge fan.

@Jeffrey Bres yes NTools produces the best counterfeit ones in my opinion I'm waiting for my CV1 which is the DV1 clone. Also ordered a few minis and lvlps.

I've used 3 different ones and they are all the same, I have a Dewabless, not a spelling mistake 😂, an NTools one and the one in this video, all made the same except colour and name

I've got 2 Sri Pro Lite Chinese guns, I've done a video, which I will sort out one day, and I've been using them to spray enamel paint as it's horrible and I don't want to use my real guns 😂

hi Pete I'm buying the Sata Copy just to see how it sprays if its copied well then should spray well but they do use seals so don't know about longevity

Hi Roger, The build quality is a bit suspect on these, I hardly use them, but this one doesn't seal well at the tip. You need to really tighten it to stop it pulsing and bubbling in the pot, something you don't have to do on the original, having said that you can pick these up for 55 USD these day's so cheap, cheers mate 👍

Looks professional results cheap gun spray good as high quality gun but the main difference is how long they last if you're someone rarely paint get cheap one the R500 is probably the best cheap gun if you have projects get something that last iwata have great guns in 200$ range

Hi John, These are capable of reasonable results but aren't anything like as user-friendly as the original. The R500 is an easier gun to use and can give good results, and it will probably last longer than this. Cheers, buddy 👍

Hi Pete, so is using a fake GTI as bad as using a real genuine GTI for WoW primer🤔 does that make us even🤭😂I've heard of quite a few people that use these clones of the real guns and most speak highly of them especially the GTI clone as it gets good reviews and from what you have done here it really does look like a good gun👍 You can also get the DV1 clone which again does look nice and I've heard they are good guns. Thanks for doing this mate I often wondered how good they were so it was great to see someone we can trust reviewing them👏👍

Hi John, I had thought about it for ages as people kept asking, and I finally took the plunge 😂. I don't think this is anything like as bad as using a genuine Pro Lite for WOW mate, although i get your reasoning 😁 They give very little joy back to the painter if that make sense, as someone who, like you, likes good quality tools all that is lost, but, they do the job and people seem to like the video so a back to back with the real one will be on the cards. I will get the DV1 clone. There seems to be 2, and they are quite different. One is a direct copy, so I'd like to see what is interchangeable. Are you sorting your panels out now for a repaint?

Yeah I suppose you are right mate I have committed the ultimate sin in the ProLite world of using one for WoW primer, I don't think there is any coming back from that it will be on my record for ever😟🤠🤣 I get what you are saying about it not giving you anything back, a genuine ProLite, Sata and Iwata always puts a smile on your face as it's an enjoyable experience but I can imaging that when you are using a clone of the above you are just laying the paint and at the same time you are thinking about what's for dinner and what's on the telly this evening, zero feedback😫🥱🤯 It will be interesting to hear your thoughts on the DV1 clones as I've heard they are quite good🤔 Yes mate my first panel (yellow one) has been prepped and has the WoW primer on it, just mixed the colour for tomorrow🤓😎 cheers Pete👍

Hi David, they can both give a fairly good finish but are quite different. The R500 is definitely easier to use as its output is less and more controlled

I have a similar one with te20 cap. I love it for base. Allso for cratex waterborn. Unfortunantly its fully clogged now with gelcoat that went off to quick.😢😢

Hi Jeffrey, I have a few different TE20 and T110 caps, but they are all physically the same. The guns have many different names but are the same. I had a similar thing happen a few years ago with an R160 ANI . For some reason, I forgot to clean it after clear coating, took many hours of soaking, and picking to get it back up and running, I looked on it as part of the ageing process 😂, cheers Jeffrey 👍

@T_money , I have the Sata 5000 with the RP cap and HVLP, certainly with the RP cap the Sata is better than this, the HVLP one I've never used for clear but it would definitely be slower but should do the job. I got a pretty good finish on this, better than I was expecting to be honest as I flow coated it afterwards to put decals on it as I wasn't convinced it would be up to the job, it did ok but was used at 36psi which is a bit on the high side, they certainly give people value for money, cheers 👍

I have one of these from china. Its not as good as original we have at work. But does do a verry decent job. I have the th20? I like the wet pattern and its quite good. I haveone that says devillbiss on the handle but 100% not original. It did come in devilbiss box but its not like original..

Hi Jeffrey, Yes, there are about 25 different names these come in, but they are all the same apart from markings and colour, I've got few different one's that i bought around 4 years ago out of curiosity but they are all the same, I think there's only 2 factory's that make them over there

The way it sounds when you're spraying seems very loud, weird and like it uses allot of air.

Hi Shaq, I used it at 2.5 bar so around 36 psi for clear, it needs that pressure to get good atomisation so your right, it uses more air and is noisier but not much more than the TE20

@isaacmuscat97 The R500 uses less air than this Gti Pro Lite clone, but it's still uses more than you compressor could supply for a longer period. Aeropro says 3.5cfm, but it's more than double that amount. It will all come down to how much you intend to do in one go? Would a mini gun be ok for what you are thinking of doing ?

Pete, do your practice tanks have a hundred coats of base and clear on them, or do you strip them after every use?

Hi Ken, most of the time they are just recoated , occasionally I will take them down to metal again, but it's not worth it most of the time for practising different things

Pete I had one rember and I ask you how can you tell a fake devibliss gti pro lite 1.3 from the real thing you said the cap and fluid tip I had one sold it straight away I have a genuine devibliss gti pro 1.2 and 1.3 fluid tip base coat paint gun

@@peteshobbies5383 pete I sold mine for a £100 mate nice profit if you can remember mate I brought the Ani 160 q from spray gun direct pete if you can remember Andy and the 3m adapter what you put me on I would never buy a Chinese copy spray gun the guts are not the same just fake and cheap

Hi Dean, I did toil with making this one. In fact, I had to dig it out my fake toolbox, but so many people asked me what it sprays like. At least I can point them to this now, cheers mate 👍

Pete, that shade of Gold they have used on this clone, is awful, well to me anyway, like a vomitty weak yellow. Perhaps it is all left overs they have mixed together??? Yuk.

Hi Niam, It's certainly lighter than the original Devilbiss one, I also have a black one with Dewadbliss on it, I've seen a few different ones in the flesh and the gold does vary a lot 👍

Tudo bem parceiro da pintura! Minha opinião como brasileiro. Eu acho é pouco que os chineses fazem copia pois morar aqui no brasil tudo que voce ganha vai 60% em impostos, to pra ver um país que tenha mais impostos que aqui. Mesmo você comprando uma original no país de origem, sai pela metade do preço daqui. Brasil é uma vergonha para seus contribuintes
