Today, we're traveling deep into the streets of Guangzhou to try and eat some of the basics of Cantonese food. We are starting out bright and early in the morning and visiting a famous egg noodle restaurant, and watching the master chefs make the noodles with a huge bamboo pole! After watching this and the cooking process, we taste the amazing egg noodles, served with a spicy broad bean sauce and continue on for more Chinese street food in Guangzhou.
After the noodles, we're bringing you DEEP into a local food market in Guangzhou to see what Cantonese street foods we can find, and we find an amazing street food known as the Zhimahu, a sesame porridge, served to you right there on the street! It was sweet and very hearty and also served with ginger pig feet! A very UNIQUE dish!
After exploring the market, we visit Guangzhou's most famous Dim Sum restaurant, the Guangzhou Jiujia AKA Guangzhou Restaurant, a heritage restaurant in Guangzhou that serves up some amazing dim sum! We ordered the Har Gao shrimp dumplings, Siu Mai pork dumplings, Cha sui bao BBQ pork buns, and the FengZhua steamed Chicken feet. These 4 dim sum dishes are the classic combo I always like to order at dim sum restaurants in China.
After the delicious dim sum at Guangzhou Jiujia, we went to try a famous street food in Guangzhou, China, the Niuza, AKA Beef organ stew. This was rich, strong, and hearty beef organ stew that was surprisingly very delicious!
To finish off the day in Guangzhou, we visited a night street food area and found a Bozaifan restaurant serving up a huge selection of different varieties of claypot rice. I ordered up the classic lap mei fan, a claypot served with a few different types of Cantonese sausage. It was amazingly delicious!
Here are the addresses for these street food locations:
1) Amazing Duck Egg Noodles -
Name: 自造竹升面 -
Address: 前进大街17号
2) Huge Chinese Street Food Market in Guangzhou -

HUGE THANKS to ExpressVPN for offering all Food Ranger viewers 3 months free and 49% off their yearly package using this link: ExpressVPN.com/Thefoodranger . Travelers need ExpressVPN to stay safe online and to unblock any site. I personally use it for Netflix, even while at home in Canada, but also while traveling to unblock content and episodes that are geoblocked, and I also use it for security, because airport wifi and hotel wifi is often very insecure, leaving my data vulnerable. By connecting to one of their servers around the world, it’s just like my computer or phone is in that location, and all data sent while connected to their VPN is secure, safe, and private from others to see, so I know that my data won’t be hacked or looked at by others. Thanks so much for watching, and we have tons more videos coming up for you! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought about this episode, thanks so much!!!

LickBro why are you broad bush china did this and that? It was the communism that set china back 50 years. China didn't invent communism. If you dig deep in history, it was European and Russian started communism. In fake stuffs, there are criminal element in every culture. Chinese isn't immune to the disease of communism and corruption.

There are many cities in Guangdong which are famous for their unique cuisine style and surely worthy of exploring. For example, Shunde(顺德), which is the origin place of the Cantonese Cuisine and many Cantonese chefs are from Shunde; Kaiping(开平) and Taishan(台山) have their unique cuisine style called Ng Yuk Choi(五邑菜), which is so different from the traditional Cantonese cuisine and their street food and snacks are also fantastic. Shantou(汕头) and Chaozhou(潮州)‘s cuisine is also unique compared to the Kwong Fu Choi(广府菜), you can taste tons of fresh seafood in these cities. Hope that you will have a great time in Guangdong!

Can I just say before I started watching your vids... I really had a primitive "western" view of the Asian culture. The best thing about the videos isn't necessarily the food for me, but through the food I discover the culture and it's amazing. I have crazy amounts of respects for Asia, not everything is perfect but I honestly am impressed and I would love to go eventually. Keep it up Trevor

Sadly he's not even speaking the true native dialect. Breaks my heart seeing so many people in the Guanzhou region aren't speaking Cantonese. It disappoints me that he doesn't even seem to bother learning or speaking Cantonese. The lady selling the porridge was trying to speak Cantonese to you Trevor, but you just defaulted to Mandarin without even attempting Cantonese. You try speaking the native language like Spanish in Mexico and other countries. Please try speaking a little Cantonese. We're getting pushed out and disappearing.

There was a Chinese bakery located in Markham Ontario back in the 1980s. I used to go in a buy BBQ pork buns they were filed with barbecued pork with a sticky sugar glaze and stamped with a red Chinese charictor. They also had a curry bun. They were both amazing. The drive-in theatre was close to it so we would buy them to eat at the movies.

The best thing about this is free meal! Chinese people are so kind. They sometimes misunderstood by other foreigners for being rude. But hey they are not.
