From Cap Sease's book Cast On, Bind Off, this fabulous knitted cast-on produces a beautiful knitted chain on both front and back of the work.

This is so pretty! Thank you for the really clear instructions. I'm just about to knit my first baby blanket and wanted a pretty cast on and matching bind off. This is going to take some concentration to start with, but I'm sure it'll be beautiful. So glad I found your video, thank you!

You are right about the crochet hook. Since I have used this cast-on more, I now pull the second loop through just with the tip of the right-hand needle. Whatever way gets the job done is terrific. Thanks for your great observation!

Totally awesome !! Thank you very much. No wasted yarn at the beginning or measuring only to find it isn't enough. Thank you again.

If you use a crochet hook instead of the right hand needle, you can pull that 2nd loop right thru the 1st loop and not have to fiddle with pulling the st over with your fingers. Really speeds up the process!

If you used a DPN instead of the right hand needle (or a double pointed crochet hook if using previous comment idea to hook the loop) you could just flip the needle over to twist instead of taking the needle out completely to turn it.

Thank you for your tutorial on this cast on. I'm using it on a sock mate I'm casting on tonight. I wanted something different and stretchy, this fits the bill quite nicely!

Thank you for sharing this cast-on video. I'm using it to cast-on & make my grandson a hooded vest. You're video was perfect - easy to follow & understand. Again, thank you for expanding my knitting knowledge.

Now cast on as if you’re a Continental Knitter

Only if you say, “Please.” 😉 Here is a great option for continental knitters, as long as you’re also not left-handed. Please try it and see what you think. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/frqUnZqgkse3foU.html

Is this a real stretchy cast on?
@pasticheknitwear7 жыл бұрын
Yes, it tends to be a nice, stretchy cast-on. If you need it to be extra stretchy, keep the loop that remains on the right-hand needle nice and relaxed. You might also consider looking at my CWCO video which uses a crochet hook and use a larger hook-to-needle ratio when casting on.
