Chingola looks clean by today's standards; then again, I had a privilege to see this town in a much more orderly manner with great international standards... late 70s/early to mid 80s during the NCCM/ZCCM times. I was a kid but still remember like yesterday. Chingola had one of the best golf courses on the African continent.. amongst the top 15. It's low density residential areas were a continuous arrangement of high class mine houses with cleaner and extremely admirable streets lined with flamboyants and Jacarandas. No wall fences. Well manicured and large open spaces. Actually, towns like Mufulira and Luanshya had the same groove. Pure class! I don't see that level of class anymore however, we can only appreciate what the Chingola local council has managed to do so far. Keep it up team!

It's Defo better than when my parents left I think in 1980, things went really downhill, looks like there has at least been some investment in the town centre area

Chingola is on another level. Wish all towns and cities in the country could follow the example. It is a clean city. Thanks for sharing 🇿🇲💯

Totally agree with Oscar, in the 60s and 70s it was definitely more upmarket, however the main centre is still very recognisible. Barclays Bank still looks gorgeous on the corner, but don't think it is Barclays now. Bata and Stubbs the chemist are still there as is the opticians around the corner and opposite, what used to be Kingston's buildings where I learned to type. Where the bus station is was open land where once a year we used to get the circus and Luna park fairground coming for entertainment. The flamboyant and jacarandas are still there but have now finished flowering. Looks like they get a lot more rain than we did. This was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed it, very nostalgic, thank you so much

You have nailed it all Nola Volt. Equally interesting to learn about the causes of flamboyants and Jacarandas not to flower. So where the bus station is was open space?.... Trying to picture how nice it must have been with all those activities you have mentioned. If I may ask, when did you leave Zambia and where are you currently based?

I tell you what Oscar, the UK might have immaculate roads but the rubbish dumping in towns is horrendous!!! I nearly lost my dog two years ago when he ate a bag of heroin that someone had dropped in the street!!!!!!!!
