Brought here from Jason Weaver's Strong Black Legends Interview with Tracy Clayton where he details how Capital Record execs didn't want him on the song, but Ludacris and his partner Poon fought for him and they still try to leave him off the 'feature credit' till this day lol...crazy. They lied to Chingy and said Jason was too busy to tour or didn't want to be in the performances for years...absolutely dirty and crazy...Salute to Jason for always working

I just came from that interview right now too. Somethan he left out and rarely talks about. He did a feat hook in 2000 with Sole.."It wasn't me" song. He was feat on the album version but not the radio version in which Ginuwine was singing the hook. The song was actually a decent hit record. But Just like in the Chingy situation, he was replaced with a more popular rnb artist. It seems in the Sole situation he never fought for it. I'm curious on why not!

I remember being 10 years old listening to this song when it first came out . Now that I’m 30 and been through life , it’s pure nostalgia. Life was way better when I was 10 . Now there’s a bill due every week, my stepdad just passed away. My mother needs help emotionally after losing her husband . Man this is probably one of my favourite early 00's music videos, everything in this video captures that early 00's essence. The weather, cars, technology at the time which wasn't too overpowering, city sights/backdrops and even the damn leaves are like a time capsule for me to some degree despite being from UK, US culture was a VIBE back then for me. Loved growing up in the 00s and definitely miss these type of songs, none of that thot IG model BS. This video is a perfect example of the kind of romance/love imagery early 00s were pushing man, just that real masculine and feminine with a twist of hood keeping it trill. Like he's actually getting to know the chick and vibing with her, playing games, shooting hoop etc, she's feeling him and he's feeling her, neither are insecure that's REAL as hell - yeah it's a music video so might be a bit glamourised, but not too far from the truth! No twerking, flossing too much wealth, strip clubs etc. Honestly feel these sorts of songs were pushing forward the high vibration and not that low washed out vibration you see today and it was a whole generation influence vibe for sure, you see a man at the top of his game and a girl at the top of hers and they both fated to be with each other sort of flex. Can remember girls being way easier to talk to back then, our gen (early 90s kids) weren't as demoralised as todays gen I feel, and there was far less sexual tension between men and women that compared to today. Got me feeling nostalgic as hell!

"Jackpot" is an Underrated 2000's Rap/Hip Hop Album and Jason Weaver is an Underrated Singer besides Actor people this brother Played MJ 👑 of Pop as a kid. And Lastly, this was when Keishia Knight Pulliam(Rudy from the Cosby show) surprised us being all Grown up 😍. I miss them times 😞 Eternally Grateful for the 90's and Early 2000's

It never died, it ws just suffocated and supressed by the radio stations because of the dance/beat snap era. Change is necessary tho because now everyone seems to have a greater appreciation for talented artist and in a way it raised the bar for new artists and established artists.

The hell you talkin bout' 1990-2008? 05-08 was probably the worst era of rap with the emergence of platinum selling ringtone rap, and one hit wonders. I believe hip hop is definitely in a good space right now though.

05-08 had bangers and had more of a southern flavor to it. It was music you played when u where with friends fucking around in those hot summers and cold winters. Music now is just shit with a few exceptions like I said earlier.

MrStreetballer5 I swear you have to be young. It's funny because I remember back then when this song was out ('03/'04), So much hate was towards it and the South. People were saying it was 'dying' then. lol. '06-'07 was probably the worst time in Hip-Hop/Rap period. Yeah, sure, that time had (club) 'bangers' but there was no balance. You're stuck in nostalgia. And stop with that played out "RIP Hip-Hop/Rap" line. It never died. It went underground. Nowadays it has gotten better. Not better than '00-'05, but it is a lot better then where it was.

Lets just reiterate when I say hip-hop is dead I'm referring to mainstream hip-hop. Underground hip-hop is going through a golden age rn with many underground labels coming together and such. Also I never said this song itself I'm referring to the overall songs that came out during that period of time.

This reminds me of the early 2000’s and walking over to the public library to hop on their computers to get onto MSN Instant Messenger and MySpace to see what my friends were up to. I would take my Chingy CD’s with me and pop em’ into the computer so I could listen as I chilled for an afternoon. Dang, those were the days…

A few years back in Toronto I used to play this composition often - there was a girl with a real cute ass that I wanted to mack and this encouraged me to do so. She was in the choir club and really sumptous. There were a lot of people interested in her, but I knew she really liked me. She was in the same band as me in high school. These were the days when Music Videos had LIFE and COLOR and SOUL to them. The 90s & Early 2000s was the Golden/Silver age when the realms were touched by the Heavens life truly felt like you were in another Dimension back then like Heaven on Earth.
