She's so selfless. She only uses the word "I" when trying to build on a larger existential idea. She's not the type to just sit there and blab about herself without a higher level anecdote. So rare

We celebrate someone's pain than their joy and I see that it's because pain demands to be felt and we understand it well selfishly 😭😭

Maya was never comfortable talking about and puffing herself up. Nevermind, the fact that she did it all the time. Her large stature and hands were matched by her huge ego.

I really admire her for what she has achieved and find her really interesting. Her ego is quite evident in this interview though. I also found it interesting that when I read her wiki page it mentioned her preferring to be addressed as "Dr Angelou" when, in fact, she had never obtained a qualification. Some might argue her achievements would merit this, but it seems disingenuous for her to prefer being addressed with this title. You can see the audience members were confused by why she has used academic titles.

@@td866 She used what she was given. She never asked those institutions of higher learning to give her those honorable doctorates. Foolishness is believing that one can only be educated at a school, but LIFE and living and experiences are always and will always be the greatest teachers. Do you need a Doctor to tell you you're sick when you feel ill? No! Just as you don't have to go to college to be considered well educated.
