Wow. I never even realized it till now after all these years of playing but I've been using the leading edge of my wedges for chipping (thinking that was the correct way to chip), and yes, I catch the ball thin SO often. Thanks for all the great tips Aimee.

Aimee, I understand your concept. I was taught to hit down. Using the bounce makes more sense. I'm going to try this exercise. Thanks

Hi Aimee, I find chipping this way works for me when I have a good lie but what about on a dry fairway which has tight lies?

Amy, if you have a ball that is lying in deeper grass, would you still try to use the bounce portion of the club or concentrate on the sharp edge to get the head down through the grass?

when chipping using the bounce of the club ....is your right arm more in line with the shaft at impact ??...or do you still maintain the fwd shaft lean .. ?? thx

+FairwayJack there shouldn't be too much of a forward shaft lean

Enjoying your content very much. Thank you. Just quick observation. In your other chipping lesson you mentioned that should should follow your shot with your head in order to prevent releasing the club and pulling the ball but in this video I noticed you keep your head over the ball throughout the chip. Is this a personal preference?

Hi Aimee. So, I do not not have fat shots with chipping but much more thin shots with sandwedge where the ball goes long on the ground. What would be some causes of it? Could be for instance the green surface is tight/hard, meaning some grass only? Thank you so much.

great video. I think you have to videotape your chipping to see what you really do. I was really surprised to find out i was swaying. you dont realize what you r doing until you see yourself on video.

You didn’t say what the loft on the wedge was, isn’t that maybe a critical factor?

I normally use a 58 degrees lob wedge. But if I need to put more run on the ball I’d use less lofted wedge!
