@@swflfoodforest934 Most of the time people play music such that it's difficult to understand what they are saying, or you just can't hear them. You selected a good piece of music and dubbed it in so it actually enhanced your video. Also, many chipper reviews let us listen to the roar of the chipper. We don't need to hear the chipper's engine. and again, they try to talk over the roar of that engine. I'm a fan of all those early end of the world movies: Soylent Green, The Omega Man, Planet of the Apes, Them, The day the Earth Stood Still, ...would you include The Towering Inferno and Earthquake? Thanks for posting and giving a good rating on the chipper. I have a 506 that I am about to try for the first time. I saw the video by the guy who gave the chipper a bad review and was a little bit worried.

Excellent review. Especially for us here in SWFL. Because it left a lot of palm branches/leaves rather large, I think it convinced me that we need a chipper/shredder rather than a chipper for our acre and a half of oak, palm, mango and a couple of other trees. In the fall we have a tremendous amount of oak leaves which are too small for the zero turn mower with the mulching kit to vacuum up to be mulched. So, we'll need to continue rake them by hand, but, with a chipper/shredder, we should be able to dump them into the shredder hopper to be pulverized. The vast majority of branches we prune are two inches of less in diameter, so your machine is complete overkill for us. The rust issue needs to be taken seriously. Thanks for pointing it out. It will help us decide which brand to go with.

If you are looking for a chipper shreder I would look into Mighty Macs. I am still thinking of getting one of their smaller chipped shredders. Stay away from DR Power. They Are ok for chipping but they don't shred we'll at all.

Great review - I am "on the fence" with whether or not to buy THIS version (OPC566E) or the (OPC506). Not sure if it is worth paying $500.00 more for "Electric Start" and "2 Extra Wheels". Also not sure if the 566E is more heavy duty than the 506 - However I do know it weighs about 200 lbs. more (after the added wheels and battery)! I would definitely like to know the difference between them - I called Detail K2, got an answering machine, left a message and hopefully someone will call me back! Thanks again for sharing the video!

Good info thanks. Interested to know if it can be pushed by hands off the grass into the woods without towing it? Im leaning towards this model. Not much video on it yet yours is one of the few . would love to see more video on chipping hardwoods like red and white oak, cherry or hickory not sure if that is prevelant om your lot. Wondering on transport on the poperty without a mower or atv

just watched your 2nd video, you had way better luck than me. there's not much different between the 506 and the 566. Next time you video, please show a clear shot of the knife right near the anvil. please please remember to remove the spark plug any time you are rotating the cutting drum. one spark from the ignition coil can ignite what's in the cylinder and make the drum snap just enough to take your fingers clear off. also, a full face mask, ear muffs (not the ones provided), long gloves for arm protection, and a helmet, once you get a kick back facing the other direction you'll understand. When you get to removing blades and adjusting the anvil i'm curious to see if there's any adjustment. mine didnt have any and the drum was defective so i sent it back. My assembly took 3 hours because of stripped bolts, etc.

We do at 2:04 and again at 6:34 where we are really working the machine. We placed the music because the chipper sound was obnoxious. Anything under 3" and this machine just chews it up without bogging down. 4" and over it will a bit but still self feeds.

About 6. Blades are just starting to dull. If you have a lot to chip then yes I recommend. If not maybe the www.mackissic.com/product/hammermill-shredder-chipper-12p/ is a better choice. If I had to purchase again I would buy the later. I do like that this unit has a chute though.
