The Terry Twins were great! When I met my husband, we married that same year when I was 18. I couldn’t believe he was putting bananas in the fridge! He’s an M.D. and should know better! 🍌

The interesting thing is, this little movie is NOT a Chiquita Banana commercial. At least, it wasn't made as one. The song - which was originally used in radio commercials - got so popular that it was recorded and performed by regular musicians, as seen here. Thus the Chiquita brand got a ton of free advertising.

My grandma loved this song so much and every time I’d eat a banana she’d sing this song but when she was starting to lose it so she couldn’t sing the whole song all she’d say would be “I’m a Chiquita bananas and I’ve come to say” and then she’d laugh cause she couldn’t remember the rest of the song, she’s completely Senile now, and I miss her very much but she forgot who I am because I’m transgender and she remembers little girl me and it breaks my heart to see her not remember who I am. This song brings back great memories

when I went to Interlochen music camp's all state program in 1992 it was the 50th anniversiary of the program. the acotr/singing crew (after we did our final orchestra concert) did a 1942 WW2 skit, included in the skit was some ww2 commericals. incluiding this one (just the last few lines though) but still. I love this

You know what I fine amusing is that bananas in order not to ripen to quickly were shipped via a "refrigerated" ship (great white fleet) ... so I guess they were telling us please please eat more bananas and do not keep in your refrigerator !!!

@hebneh it was made originally a propaganda of United Fruit Company, of the actual "Chiquita" for people in the USA to learn how to eat bananas.
