Hi Dan Love the chanell. With regards to the oil painting like scene, It's all to do with the dynamic range of the camera or the scene. There is nothing in this frame that is under exposed and nothing that is over, it all fits within the abilities of the camera and as a result you get a lot of detail because nothing is missing. You will see the same thing in HDR photography it is kinda spooky sometimes because it can show detail that even the human eye can't see. in your case the scene you captured was evenly lit and flat.

You mentioned you were going Against water flow. So is there a Slight Downward Gradient in the engineering? Very Precise? Many Miles of Roman Aqueducts were very Precise in Gradient. Romans based engineering on a Flat Earth. No curvature was in calculating Gradient. Same with the Chirik Aqueduct? What about other aqueducts, canals …??? Roman architect Vitruvius wrote The Ten Books on architecture. English translation at Gutenberg. He tells how earth is flat . Many other interesting things too

Was the Narrowboat by the tunnel the same one that was crossing the aquaduct in the biking to the boat video?
