reyanime not really. They got hate because Tia was 90% of their first MV and their first live performance was AWFUL. It had nothing to do with them being biracial. There’s been many biracial people successful in Korean music long before Chocolat like Yoon Mi Rae.

@@applepie7520 I remember comments about them being biracial all over the place They were the 1st group to have the majority of the members not be fully Korean and their other halfs were not Asian. They were definitely getting hate for it. I do remember that yes, ppl had a problem cause Tia was the focus and I do remember hearing about their 1st performance, but them being biracial also played a part.

There's just something about 2nd gen groups like this that's so unique, their music is timeless and, even though it never got even part of the success it truly deserved, it sticks with us. Sure, it wasn't a chart success but we remember it for years to come. I like to think gems like this become "cult classics" among the fans and I think ChoColat will live on in the minds of K-Pop fans. ChoColat, Rania, 9MUSES, Spica, Brave Girls, April Kiss, Hello Venus, C-REAL, Fiestar, Melody Day and so many others. They might have not captured global attention but their music will live on. I used to worry some groups could be forgotten as time goes on but it makes me happy when new K-Pop fans know them as well.

I would also say they (and everyone you listed above) are 3rd gen . 1st gen surely were h.o.t, sechskies, s.e.s, finkl, shinhwa and such, 2nd are dbsk, ss501, suju, big bang, wonder girls, snsd, kara and such, and then when everything was just about being catchy and colorful is when 3rd gen started, so probably already starting from BEAST and T-ara at the end of 2009~

The plot is similar to the Peter Pan story (the real one /aka the 'dark' version) where Tinkerbell falls in love with Peter, but he's too in love with Wendy to even notice. And therefore, Tinkerbell gets jealous. And the jealously turns into hatred.. therefore the song is called 'Black Tinkerbell'

Almost 7 years since it's release.... It's just sad Chocolat didn't get the recognition they deserve. I just randomly sang this song in my head and now I'm here watching this again this 2020. I can still remember totally digging the choreo on the chorus part, the hip thing is my fave! Plus the whole concept of black Tinkerbell, totally can relate, oh high school days 😂💖 I hope all the members are doing well these days and are happy.

Eh their lack of success had nothing to do with them being biracial/globalization. They were under a really small company so they didn’t get much fame. Biracial people have been successful in Korea long before Chocolat like Yoon Mi Rae.

Just read 2017 Melanie's interview on kpopalypse and found out how hard they had been through... I'm their fan since their debut with Syndrome. And so sad to know that she had suffered from depression. And that was all because of their company :( Anyway, hope they'll be successful on their own way, all of ChoColat's members!

Chocolat were one of my first K-pop groups back in 2011! Syndrome was ADDICTION! I really loved that song! Sadly, I haven't kept in touch with them as much later on but sometime around last year I started to re-discover them. And, I realized I have missed a rich ocean of talent! First, I started to check their non-title songs, their 1st Mini Album is A.R.T! EACH SONG OF THAT ALBUM IS AMAZING HOW COME IT DIDN'T GET ANY AWARDS OR RECOGNITION!???????? I seriously lost respect to the K-pop fandom cause everyone slept on that masterpiece. :/ Black Tinkerbell is another masterpiece. This song is so catchy and it has a deep message in it. The B-Side track ' All Night ' is a fun and catchy song as well. All what everyone could do is to make this release fail so hard to the point where they disband???? I can't anymore. I've read Melanie's story, I could see her being frustrated by the company's treatment & the group's failure, but what I want to say is that Chocolat was really and will always be one of a kind. Their music were quality and they deserved way more recognition. They only stayed from 2011-2013 but they released great music to dance crazily to or to cry to. There'll never be a bi-racial girl group who makes catchy music ever again. Especially not one who gotten close to our hearts like Chocolat.♡ Chocolat's disbandment will always be a tragedy in the history of K-pop lol.

I remember I was experiencing a heartbreak when BT was released so I could relate to it so well :') Honestly Chocolat was quite underrated back then. Black Tinkerbell and One More Day are my favs, I always searched these songs during karaoke but it was hella difficult to find karaoke studios that had Chocolat's songs.

Same here. You know a track that no body ever seems to talk about with chocolat is ‘in a heartbeat’ that track is by FAR pure early 00’s vibe. Like seriously, I BET if chocolat had debuted with that track, they would be probably still have been around longer. That track is just so good and shows their talent beautifully... Between One more day, Black tinker bell, In a heart beat, & I like it. Chocolat had some pretty good Tracks overall.

I still have hope for Chocolat. Nobody has ever come out to say they have disbanded so there is still a chance for a comeback. One day I really wish to see an article confirming that Chocolat will be back. I won't lose hope until anyone actually confirms their disbandment.. This group is definitely in my top 4 girl groups, I will always support them!

I got here after looking up the dictionary cause the defintion of talent was written as "Chocolat". Seriously, I know the company was so horrible and all that but these girls are amazing WHY DIDN'T WE SUPPORT THEM ENOUGH TO GET THEM WHAT THEY DESERVE I SWEAR K-POP IS SO UNFAIR ;(((

They didn't disband. I believe they are now a 5 member group but haven't promoted or had any comebacks since this song and adding the 5th member. I hope they do make a comeback. They're really talented and underrated

There is a interesting and old interview with Melanie in which she said why she did not renew her contract and why she wanted an out of that kpop world (search Melanie Kpopalypse interview), now I know she’s happily married and had a baby girl this year.
