He was also there when I needed someone the most and he accepted me while even my own mother couldn’t. I was often told that if my own family can’t accept me, no one will and nobody can and I believed that until he accepted me. He wasn’t the nicest or the most caring guy, that’s a given but he definitely wasn’t a bad person. He may be seen as cold and rude to some people when he’s pissed but if you’re honestly hurt, he wouldn’t just stand there and watch you hurt. That’s the type of person he is and that’s also why I’m proud to be his friend. He knows when to stop and he doesn’t push past the line. If he doesn’t like you, he’ll leave and if he likes you, he’ll stay. I got hurt a lot because of my overthinking while I was with him but I was also happiest when I was with him. It felt refreshing and comforting to be beside someone who fully accepted and believed me especially because my ‘home’ felt more like a battlefield than a home. Everyday I woke up looking forward to talking to him and playing with him, I honestly didn’t care about what others thought of us as long as we were both happy. I used to think that my eyes looked lifeless and it was better if I wasn’t happy, I believed it would be the best for my family and their wishes. To study hard and not be in too much pain meant I had to ignore my emotions and wants, I thought ‘Ah, my life’s really over now, huh?’. I wasn’t happy but it’s not like I knew what it was like to be nothing but happy back then. I thought that if I gave in, mother would smile at me like she used to and she’d love me as much as she did. I met him during summer, COVID was still here so we got an early break. I was happy, relived, and surprised but I knew I wouldn’t miss school at all so I could never understand why they missed it until after I met him. They missed school because they had people they cared about there just like how I treasured my device because my only friends are there. In the time we were together, I started to realize that I’ve been laughing and smiling much more than I used to. My moods were better and I even cracked a couple smiles at home to my mother. I learned a lot of terrible habits but I think it was worth it. We have a lot of happy memories and because of him, I know what it’s like to want someone, need someone, love someone, and genuinely care about someone. I could tell that I truly wanted the best for him, I knew I wasn’t acting when I argued with my friend because he purposely hit him in a game. I’ve made a lot of mistakes and I definitely did hurt him a lot this time but I hope to make it up to him by trying even harder to make him happier. I left for one year and I rarely contacted him much so I understand if he doesn’t forgive me but I won’t move on until he does. As selfish and cruel as it is, I don’t think either of us want to forget our days together especially since he told me he missed me not too long ago. Well I’ll respect whatever his choice is but our time is limited because of school. I typed this because I wanted to ask for advice so please feel free to reply however you want. Just no swears words. (I would appreciate some advice, thanks!)
