Sat on a hesco at sunset in Afghanistan playing this on my guitar the day some good friends were taken from their mortal coil by an ied. I finished and wiped a tear from my eye and turned around and saw a large group of my brothers and sisters just standing there with tears in their eyes. Funny how the world moves on,forty years ago I would be listening to this through a drug and alcohol induced haze,it was that sort of music. Now here I am listening to it being sung by a choir. Twentieth century rock has come of age and is being seen alongside the classical masters of previous centuries.

This song always makes me cry like a baby! And I rarely show emotions. But sometimes, I lock myself in my room, turn down the lights, put on my headphones, and play this song, and think about my first and only love, who died tragically in a car crash a day before our wedding. Our German Shepherd Kaiser died in that crash too. It's been 25 years and I couldn't bring myself around to get married and have a family!! Yes, I worked veryhard, and made quite a fortune to retire at age 47, and take care of my ageing mother. Its music like this that allows me to cry out once in a while, and keep myself sane!

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from hell Blue skies from pain Can you tell a green field From a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? Did they get you to trade Your heroes for ghosts? Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze? Cold comfort for change? Did you exchange A walk on part in the war For a lead role in a cage? How I wish, how I wish you were here We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl Year after year Running over the same old ground And how we found The same old fears Wish you were here

This song makes me cry. It reminds me of one of the happiest days of my life, which culminated in Pink Floyd singing. Always moves me!

A song from my younger years. I love the guy with gray hair and checked shirt at 2 o'clock from the conductor who doesn't consult written lyrics. True Floyd fan.

I love choral music. The human voice is incredible but when it is done with these two simple instruments, it's incredible. I cannot believe I haven't stumbled upon it sooner than this and it will not be my last.

I cant think of a better description of this fine tune other than "lovely". I have listened to many renditions of this fine tune and each one makes me cry like a baby. It is so heart wrenching when we miss someone who is no longer with us or near us. A lovely tune indeed. BRAVO Y'ALL and God bless.

the make up of the choir symbolises the wide appeal of floyd. There are all ages and backgrounds in there and just as one with the music. Wonderful.

never in my lifetime did i ever think i would see my beloved Pink Floyd being sung by so many people of all ages, in so many countries... choirs, orchestras, street bands...... and my mother, in the 70's, pretty much freaked out over hearing them, just a druggy band... when i watch humanity sing The Floyd, tears come to my eyes. thanks for this.
