Yes! I've always thought that too - the line "Kathy, I'm lost I said though I knew she was sleeping" has haunted me for years....I finally had to write a song based on that one line just to kind of deal with it...

I think this is Paul Simon's best song. The lyric may be the closest to poetry that any pop songwriter has ever come. "And the moon rose over an open field..." So simple and yet so deep.

Stevie Z I know what you mean. Some songs are so deep that they scare me. I write songs too. You have to be what you compose to reach other people.

Imagine hearing this for the first time in 2021. Just imagine the pain and frustration of the past 4 years. The American Dream was lost in Kansas during a hurricane maybe.

What key was this recording sung in? I tried to blend this recording with the original track and it's sharp and flat all over the pace when matched to the original. Anybody know? I'd love to get this choir in the background of the original track chorus.

I think they should have held the chord at the end of "Saginaw" a little longer.

They do a very good job. But this song was meant to be sung by a boy about his girl and he searching for America. It is a very personal song.

They need to harmonise more, just like Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel did in the original. I was disappointed, they never did that. Still nice arrangement

This one is about the only one I haven't enjoyed - the singing is very flat until the final minute when it picks up markedly.
