Thank you so much for making this video! Weird story: I was given an OLD Craftsman chipper/shredder. After a few months of use, the plate that holds the choke & throttle broke off & started flopping around. Turns out @ some point someone took off the whole air filter housing, lost 2 screws & never bothered to replaced them. Excessive vibration eventually snapped the little arm that holds that plate to the top of the gas tank. Eventually it just wouldn't stay running & there was very little movement in the throttle lever. I ripped the whole thing apart & fabricated a new plate for the choke/throttle levers. I found the 2 missing screws in the carburetor. They had jammed the fuel intake valve closed. After sitting in pieces on my basement floor for a few weeks, I was having trouble getting the linkage right. Your video was a life saver!

I rebuilt a carb for a briggs fun power 5hp, you're the only person I've found that gives the detail of the governor spring from tank to linkage, I've been panicking because it's xmas eve and I'm hours away from giving my 8 year old her first go kart, you literally saved the day and her Christmas. Thank you for the detail, you even showed it a second time, god bless.

Mike Carter lol, I had the same problem the other day. And my throttle was stuck open just because I hooked up the spring to the governor arm wrong. I felt so stupid when I realized that it connects to the post that looks like a T.

Look at nice new tank! I wish I had one. I have to figure out why my 5hp briggs runs and then stops then goes again then stops. I put a new diaphram in it last year which helped a bit. Steve's small engine salloon says to check the gas cap for air flow. It has to be that or the carburetor. I did clean the carburetor but I dunno maybe I didn't do it good enough or need a new carburetor. I love your videos. I have learned a lot from them over the years. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

My throttle cable connects below the fuel tank on the front at the control arm bracket. 3 mower/small engine shops told me wrong on the linkage! Your video is great, and I appreciate the different angles! My application is an MTD rear tine tiller (model 219-406-000) Now it works and I immediately tilled my front yardThank You!
