I like them both equally. I mean, I know Erick is "better" but Mario also has a presence about him.

I think it's because he didn't actually record this tune. Something like 1/3 to 1/2 of Chon drum parts are written by his mentor. Kinda sad to learn.

Keep your hopes up! If I'm not mistaken, Esiah (bassist) has yet to record with Chon for the albums (maybe the 2008 demo. not sure). But Drew did Grow, and Chon hired a session bassist Anthony Crawford to record the bass parts for Homey. So if Esiah has some input in the studio in the future, we can hope to expect this sound!

Nope. Ok, so it's a little more advanced than that. At 120 bpm, it'll be 3 bars of 9/16 plus 1 bar of 5/16. That all equals 32 16th notes, which is the same as 2 bars of 4/4. around 1:09 Nathan (the drummer) overrides the song with a 4/4 feel, so every measure he plays in a 4/4 feel, lines up with the end of the 3 bars plus 1 bar groove. You'll notice at the beginning when he is counting the tempo, he's counting an eighth note in a 4/4 feel but the ride pattern he plays only lines up with the pulse every 2 measures of 4/4, same as the guitars and basses.

lol thats not a practical way of counting since you'd be counting insanely fast. its a 2 bar phrase in 4/4. don't over complicate it. you could technically could it that way but it's absurd

When it gets that complex you don't count it you "feel" it. Do you really think a band like tool counts Schism in 6 1/2 over 8? Or Dream Theater counts out the bars of 13/16 or 15/16 in Dance of Eternity? You can't count this song in 4/4 since the notes don't mathematically line up with 4/4.
