Upgrade your edits with our effects: videoloadout.com
Choosing a hard drive for video editing can be confusing. I share my process how I upgraded my editing storage setup with an option that is cheaper than a nas system from syncology, more storage than a lacie drive, and more permanent than several external samsung ssd drives: the Western Digital My Book Duo has speeds fast enough to edit in Premiere Pro, 8-40TB of storage, is affordable per TB compared to an SSD, and is a good fit for freelance video editor all around.

My Book Duo (16TB): amzn.to/4cI4nbA (Amazon)
* All around 4k video editing drive with Raid 0 speed and tons of storage.
Lacie Rugged (5TB): amzn.to/4cBQNGO (Amazon)
* If you need a couple TB and can't upgrade to My Book Duo yet
Samsung T7 SSD: amzn.to/3L0NE7T (Amazon)
* Edit off this if you have no SSD. Offload your footage once done editing to a mirrored folder on a backup drive. I only use this for travel currently with Laptop. You can also put your effects on here for it doesn't slow down you editing process. Not enough storage for large projects but fast.
If you want to edit as fast as possible on premiere pro, you need to stop bottlenecking your editing system with slow drives. Consider focusing on making your editing life easier by upgrading your storage system. Whether you edit music videos, commercials, or content this is well worth it.
