Can Volume Profile be strictly used as support and resistance and as well 0:04 deciding on option strategy and strikes?How does it compare with option volume and open interest . Does max volume option strike price coincide with point of control? Thanks for your excellent discussion.

Interesting ideas! VP can be used for confirming levels of S & R. As for option strategy selection, one thing to consider is that often, levels of S & R occur around 1 Sigma from the ATM strike, and that generally falls right around the .30 Delta. Not always, but often enough that there's correlation. I'll have to look at the Max option volume/OI correlation to POC, but it's logical and likely. Also what might create sticky strike prices, if MM's are hedging risk at those strikes by buying/selling stock. Good curiosity on your part! ^BW

How can I use volume profle wih SPX?

You can't use Volume Profile with SPX, because indexes don't report volume. In the case of an index, a trader may use a representative ETF that does show volume information. ^BW
