Thanks for posting such an informative video. I was just accepted into the EdD program in Leadership and have been searching for videos on student experiences at LU. I was also accepted into Regent so will make my final decision within the next week.

I am also in the LE field and will be starting my Ph.D. in Criminal Justice-Homeland Security in January. Hearing you speak on this topic gave me a better understanding of the program. Hello, today I received my acceptance for the Ph.D. in Criminal Justice at Liberty University. I was wondering, is reading the Bible a requirement for every course? I'm not a religious man so I was just seeing how much of a role the Bible will play in the program. Thank you.

The comprehensive exam was intense. It was the most writing I have done in a single week since starting my program. There were three questions (one theory, one methods, and another question). They were released incrementally on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. They were due in the same order on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Each question required 10-15 pages, excluding the title page, abstract, and references. It was a tough week, but I passed, and so did my other two classmates.

Thank you for your video. I was just accepted into the Ph.D. in C.J. program. Could I please ask: 1) How do I find your study group online? 2) Do you think I could tackle 2 classes at a time (4 in the semester) or should I stay with 1 class every 8 weeks? Thank you for the video and help!

Congrats! The group has been very helpful for most people. I'd suggest taking one to start and decide whether you can handle more than one. I took 4 in Fall 2019 and 4 in Spring 2020. I also double for one of the sub terms in Summer 2019. It will depend on your personal and professional commitments.

Thanks so much for this review. I have just started looking at online doctorate programs. Do you feel as though liberty's doctoral programs are reputable? Also this was a very easy program to apply to vs other doctorate programs, any thoughts on that?

Liberty University is regionally accredited (the gold standard for institutional accreditation). So, I think it's very reputable. The coursework nor the dissertation phase are a cakewalk. As for the ease of applying, I submitted my statement of purpose and transcripts. This is similar to other programs to which I applied. The only other requirement some of the schools I mentioned had was supplying references. Some of Liberty's programs require references, but not the ones in the School of Government.

I'm currently a police officer and wanted to know about the classes. Is it wise to take more than two classes while working in the position I'm in? I'm seriously just considering 1 during this 8-week term.

After having graduated awhile ago and going back into the workforce do you feel that your doctorate has helped you in any way professionally? Did it get you a better job, pay raise, etc?

I was a high school teacher while pursuing my Ph.D. Before being conferred with the degree, I secured a tenure-track professor position contingent on having the degree by Fall 2021. The pay increase was almost 15k. I left that position in May for another tenure-track position, which came with a 10k raise. So, my Ph.D. has been invaluable since I couldn't have obtained either position without a doctorate.

I’m just curious as to what’s going on with you now professionally? How are you utilizing your degree from LU. How long did it take you to complete the ph.D from LU? Best wishes to you.

Hey guys, I'm considering Liberty; however, looking over the courses, I see it's a lot of papers, and some even want you to use the Bible for some references? I've never been to a college with so many papers in weeks and use the Bible in the papers. Anyone who has taken online classes, any tips or advance?

Liberty University is a conservative, Christian university. All courses are taught from a Christian worldview. Students are required to integrate this worldview into their assignments. I shared another video on my channel about this. Feel free to check it out.

I'm considering going for my Doctorate in Criminal Justice with LU Online. Is there a big difference between the Doctorate and PhD? Also, is this a reputable university? I keep hearing alot of negative feedback on this place... :(

All Ph.Ds are doctorates, but not all doctorates are Ph.D. I suggest you do your research. As far as reputation goes, I suggest you do your research. I'm a tenure-track professor at a high research activity university. I also teach online for one of the nation's top 5 criminal justice schools. All the best!
